A legend from Chihuahua, Mexico 🇲🇽 #espooky #espookytales #legendsandmyths #scarystories #hauntedplaces #paranormal #scarystory
Apparently it's National Chocolate Day, so we're gonna talk about hot chocolate & Brujeria.
Hot chocolate was a sacred beverage, used in rituals, wedding ceremonies, chocolate was used to give women energy during childbirth & so of course, this made the Spanish paranoid.
Everyone drank it but it was a drink prepared by women. So when the Spanish went after the brewers of hot chocolate, for witchcraft (brujeria), mixed-race women were targeted.
The men in their lives were accusing these chocolate brewing women, left & right, & they were brought
to trial, found guilty and jailed. Records of the trials and arrests exist. But I cannot find information on what happened after that. How long were they imprisoned for?

Home is supposed to be where you rest and feel safe, but what if something is there? Something so evil, you are not at peace.
Today we explore a house turned museum in Guanajuato, Mexico called La Casa de Lamentos (House of Laments), which is said to be haunted by the many victims of a Mexican serial killer. We also share the tale of La Casa de Brujas, which was once the home of a shaman named Pachita, who to this day is said to haunt the place.
Our guest, Spoken, shares tales of his haunted house experience and somehow we also start talking about shadow people and sleep paralysis.
