1. Mount Vernon - 1,528
2. Danville - 1,791
3. Springfield - 8,334
4. Centralia - 1,268
Gone are the days that parents can let their children run wild until the street lights come on.🚸
Hell, parents shouldn’t let their kids out of sight in Illinois in 2020 or moving forward.
In case you are wondering what those numbers above stand for - that is an increase in violence & crime. 🛑
Mt. Vernon is officially ranked one of the most dangerous places to live within Southern Illinois.
Having lived in Centralia myself I can personally say it deserves it's place as # 4.
Small towns have always been known as safe havens for most. 🏘
But in recent times we find thanks to Covid, Racism, Quarantine, and Lack of Working Opportunities that crime and violence has increased.
Many people react to stress differently.
But for many the idea is that stress and isolation are tough but for others it is beyond overwhelming. 😥
A stressed intense state of mind can cause the body to react, allowing the brain to cope negatively.🤯
With that I am not giving excuses, however, it is with understanding that the human mind was not and is not designed for this type of segment and isolation.🤐
❌We have Election Time Coming.
❌Covid-19 numbers Rising.
❌Crime is Rising.
❌Violence is Rising.
But most of all the one no one likes to discuss..
❌Attempts of Murder are also Rising.
So now you are probably asking well how do you know that it is rising?
Research. 🎯
When you have a person who goes from a stable environment to unstable, add in quarantine and stress, no money to survive, and children...the human body is only designed for what it is capable of.
And unfortunately we have mental illnesses in play as well.😔
Given all the factors, and reactors you are taking social creatures and forming them into self isolated dangers.
Now I am not saying that each an everyone of us will turn ugly or monstrous.
But what I am saying is that we as a nation are not prepared for the type of insight we just created. 🚧💥
Within 2019-2020 we have seen buildings burn, monuments of history destroyed, businesses closing, people stealing, fighting over necessity such as toilet paper, forcing masks to save thy neighbor...all of this but now punishment is almost disappeared. 🗽🗿
Bc of covid we can not accept all punishment to be given. And the people of the nation are becoming more aware of the lack of reprimand.
We have jails and prisons refusing to accept inmates due to safety concerns and health issues.
But in reality we are telling people it is ok to commit a crime, it is ok to be violent.
Just a few short weeks ago the small towns we surround ourselves with were considered safe.
Within that short time we saw an increase in stabbings, shootings, theft, and even murder.
The saddest part of this reality is the fact that our small town's idea of protecting the people is cover-ups and hush hush natures.
Take a look around Southern Illinois.
Do you like what you see.👀
Do you view eyes wide open, or do you get deceived by all the lies and deceit.🙈
Take a Stand Southern Illinois. 👆🦹♀️
Don't accept Defeat. 🆘️
In the words of Cobra Kai - 🐍
Strike First. Strike Hard. Show No Mercy.
Show up. Show Out. But do it for the greater good.🦸♀️
As always,
Stick Together Southern Illinois ✌💟
