Stacy Johnson is changing the lives of some of our most vulnerable citizens: children who have been removed from their homes due to safety issues and placed in emergency foster care. When Stacy was two years old, she was placed in foster care. Over the next 13 years, Stacy lived in ten different homes until she asked to be moved to a shelter. One year later, at only 16, she was emancipated out of foster care and was on her own. The judge who granted her emancipation request said at the time, "You might change the world."
Well, Stacy is changing the world. In 2015, Stacy opened Central Texas Table of Grace, an emergency shelter for up to 13 children. Over time, she observed that many kids who aged out of foster care weren't ready to live on their own. Lost young adults become homeless, trafficked, and hopeless. She started Grace365 as an answer to this need. Soon, she will break ground on an expanded emergency shelter and a stand-alone facility to house Grace365.
When you listen to Stacy's remarkable story, you can't help but be inspired. And you cannot miss the miracles that God made happen to clear her path when everything looked dark. Her work continues, and it may not bring her fame and fortune. But Stacy Johnson will be remembered by the thousands of lives she has been instrumental in changing. That's fortune enough...
