The truth is, marketers make a living off manipulating people’s thoughts, behaviors & actions. Our industry has a lot of power to improve people’s lives, but also greatly impact them negatively.

As someone who works in this industry, and still manages to fall victim to rage bait occasionally - I feel the need to share this type of knowledge. In College/University we are taught about unethical marketing practices, but sadly we still see them being used on a daily basis for profit.

With the removal of many fact checking softwares, always be vigilant about where your news is coming from. If you feel genuinely angry at a stranger on the internet, take a step back and ask yourself - what will you gain from taking the bait and commenting?

We are all experiencing life, and this monster called “social media” for the first time. Choose to spread kindness - even to crazy uncle bill 🩵

Your business is more than just the products & services you sell - so why doesn’t your social media reflect that?

If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “the algorithm is working against us”, it might be that your content isn’t providing any value for your audience. The reality is, people aren’t logging into social media to be sold to. So if you’re posting a picture of your product with a “Buy Now” graphic, people will be swiping by that post faster than a bad match on tinder 😱

I had opportunity to design the Barefoot Waterski Canada nationals logo for their tournament last September! 🇨🇦

After creating the logo, I organized having hoodies and towels made for all the competitors with the design on it. ✨

As an avid barefoot waterskier myself, this was such a cool opportunity and I was so happy with the outcome!
