Proudly Filipino!

The Philippine College of Physicians (P*P) Textbook of INTERNAL MEDICINE Volumes One and Two is oriented to the characteristics of the Filipino patients and to the needs of the physicians caring for them. This textbook is meticulously crafted by the editors with the aim to (1) characterize disease epidemiology according to local and regional data; (2) describe the pathophysiology and genetic characteristics of diseases according to local data; (3) discuss the presentation of common and stereotypical diseases among Filipino patients with emphasis on their specific characterization; and (4) contextualize disease management based on local data and systems of care.

This unprecedented textbook propels P*P a long way in pursuit of its mission of “being the leading resource of education and information to all internists” in the Philippines.

As for the lay people, the Stop CKD Advocacy also provides you with a general knowledge on how to take good care of your kidneys by emphasizing the 8 golden rules of kidney health (click the link below for the full details).

Apart from bragging rights and a chance to be featured in the official music video of the STOP CKD advocacy of PSN, the winner will take home PHP 80,000 in cash. In support of this year’s celebration of World AIDS Day with the theme “World AIDS Day 35: Remember and Commit”.

This event is to raise awareness on the understanding of HIV and AIDS from the viewpoint of statistics and medicine. This is a reminder of the global struggle for HIV-related stigma. The first World AIDS Day took place in 1988, providing a platform to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and honor the lives affected by the epidemic. This year marks the 35th commemoration of this important day. Over the past 35 years, there has been significant progress in addressing HIV and AIDS thanks to advancements in medical research, increased access to treatment and prevention, and a broader understanding of the virus.
