Better late than never! Now that I have a minute to breathe after four consecutive weeks on the road. Wanted to share some photostatic/audio-visual imagery from an amazing event I’ve had the pleasure of working on for the last four years…”Beats For A Cure.” 💗 This year we collectively & virtually (across the twitch platform) raised over 56K for Breast Cancer Research at the Cleveland Clinic. Culminating in a LIVE event last month in CL (for the first yea ever) to aid in boosting those donations & getting together in unification. Super love to my brother for being the driving force behind this awesome initiative. The time, energy, and heart you put into the drive each and every year does not go unnoticed. Momma is shining that light down on you intensely. Love to ALL involved but have to specifically mention & for co-hosting & providing the beautiful space for us to come together. I don’t think y’all stopped for a minute (D-Man included), aside from rocking your respective sets. Next year we are topping 60K! I’m putting it out there in the universe!

I finally got to break bread (& dig a little) w/ Bay Area Hip-Hop royalty . We’ve known each other virtually for quite some time via the Pittsburgh fam , but the first time meeting in the funky fresh flesh. I collected his zine over the years & the slew of his “Return Of The DJ” compilations on wax. & this dude is still doing it…fluid! Decades later. His tour schedule makes me look lazy. 🤣 Appreciate you coming through on my short window of time and introducing me to Cha Cha Cha on Haight. Good eats! Good convo! Good brother! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

As we close out a stellar 2024 of ‘Breakfast Jammies’ on Twitch, I want to personally thank ALL that continue to “rock-rock on” for (yet) another turning of the calendar. The 4.5 year mark & no signs of slowing down. From the Supa Mod Squad (You Already Know!) & the constant support, presence, input, & engagement of the Berry Bunch continue to grow the channel exponentially, year after year. The community we’ve fostered over this (close to) half-a-decade span is nothing short of amazing. Not just on the channel alone, but across all music channels worldwide. Let’s collectively continue to “push-push!” ♥️💜♥️ Catch y’all@on the flipside!

Today’s ‘Breakfast Jammies’ “pro-grum” was VERY necessary! One solid hour of wisdom, insight, thought, debate, dialogue & love via the wordsmith/poet/activist Nikki Giovanni. We lost her on Monday at the age of 81. She just blessed here in Pittsburgh at the August Wilson Center last year, and now she’s w/ the ancestors. 🙏🏼♥️Your words will live on via a multitude of recordings +performances. & will inspire generations upon generations to speak out loudly!

Bay Area Friends! Making my triumphant return to SF & Oakland, mañana. I’ll be in the general area through Thursday (12/5). Monday (12/2) w/ my mellow for MOM (Motown On Mondays). Venue info is on the second slide because IG likes to play with the algorithm! Tuesday (12/3) for a private gig in SF (but I’ll be around prior + after). Then headed to Sacramento to kick it with it my brother before heading back to Pittsburgh l for less than two days and off to BK Saturday morning for (yet another) private gig. Phew! & to think I JUST got back from New Mexico. When it rains, it pours…I guess¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hope to see my Bay Area denizens out tomorrow. 🙌🏼

Contrary to popular belief, I don’t know it all when it comes to the vast landscape of soul music. This cat had me pulling out the ol’ Shazam several times. YES, even us sound selectors utilize the tech tools too. If I’m going to head out to see a DJ, I want to be challenged (& moved). Skeme never lets me down. & to think, I haven’t seen him rock in over a decade. & (of all places) he just so happened to be rocking in Albuquerque the night before l I was jetting back to the East (my brother, to the East..)We got to chop it up for a bit before he hit the stage. Always full of nuggets of wisdom + insight. Albuquerque has a nice little dance scene, to boot. The land of enchantment did not disappoint on myriad fronts. 🙌🏼

Despite today not being the holy day, we still had to go in for the sisters (literally). Karen Clark-Sheard & her fellow (Clark) sister Tw***ie share the same born-day (11/15), six-years apart. Their 64th & 70th revolutions, respectively. Breakfast Jammies was an ethereal experience this morning w/ 2.5 hours of Karen & Tw***ie solo-efforts + equal parts Clark Sisters & a sprinkling of KiKi (Karen’s daughter) for good measure. We were even blessed in the chat by the good Father Damian, who rocks (DJ/Catholic Priest) on Twitch from St. Monica’s Parish in T.Dot. The following bits are just a few of the highlights from the day, including a BJ’s favorite…the@pumpichulo (DJ Pump) flip of “Ha Ya.” If any of my fellow rekkid completists want to aid in helping me fill the last handful of gaps in my Clark Sisters LP collection (pictured on the last slide), get a me. 🤣🙏🏼 Appreciate all that worshipped w/ us on a Friday. Y’all ALWAYS show up & out! ♥️💗♥️

SEVEN-Hours (7!!!) of the 🐐🐐🐐 today, Quincy Delight Jones (🙏🏼😢🙏🏼) on the “Progrum” today & we didn’t even scratch the surface (nor repeat anything). Lord, that was therapeutic. There will never be another Q. Samples, Covers, Flips, Remixes, OGs. It was a mixed-bag (today) for the G-D. Thank you to all the rocked w/ us on a cathartic release for the maestro. I LOVE doing tribute sets, but I hate when they come on a passing instead of a born-day. Sigh. 🙏🏼

1979 Little Jimmy at Pied Piper School (kindergarten). I feel like these plastic Halloween get-ups from Sears in East Lib are partially responsible for it being 80 degrees on October 31st in Pittsburgh. 😫😫😫 Also…why am I looking so sad w/ the puffiest of cheeks? 🤣🤣🤣
