Breaking: FG suspends Prisons officers in charge of the Maximum and Minimum Custodial Centres, Kirikiri, Lagos State..
. Following an audio leak indicating that cross dresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky who was convicted of a crime and sentenced to six months in jail was given an apartment outside the custodial centre.

They are:
Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State; and Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Maximum-Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.

The Board has taken the step of suspending ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, who was assigned to the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Afikpo, Ebonyi State. This decision comes in response to allegations that he accompanied a convicted inmate to a location outside of the Custodial Centre.

In a related matter, the Board has also placed another Senior Officer on suspension, Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, who serves as the Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) and is responsible for the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kuje-Abuja. This action comes in response to allegations that he accepted funds on behalf of an inmate. Ijeomadaisy

Thousands of mourners gathered today for a memorial service honoring 21 children who died in a boarding school fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri, Kenya.

The small white coffins, adorned with flowers and photographs, held boys aged 9 to 13 who were trapped in their dormitory.

Opposition party leader Eugene Wamalwa called it "one of the greatest national tragedies" in Kenya.

The country has a troubling history of school fires, with over 60 cases of arson reported in public secondary schools in 2018.

The cause of the recent fire remains unknown, but similar incidents have often resulted from student protests against harsh discipline and poor living conditions.

General Murtala Ramat Muhammed, was responsible for orchestrating the infamous "Asaba Massacre" of October 1967, an event that claimed the lives of over 3,000 civilians during the Nigerian Civil War.

The Federal troops under his command stormed Asaba, accusing the town’s residents of supporting Biafra. What was intended to be a gathering of allegiance quickly turned into a massacre, as soldiers opened fire on men and boys after separating them from women and children.

The peaceful townspeople, many dressed in white, were brutally executed in one of the most horrifying atrocities of the civil war.

Despite this, his legacy remains honored in many circles. Lagos’ international airport is named after him, and his face graces the ₦20 note.
