I grew up watching Forensic Files. It was one of my favorite shows. I would later learn that “junk science” is a leading cause of wrongful convictions in America. So… is everything I grew up fascinated with completely wrong? Some disciplines - such as bite mark analysis and hair comparison - have been thoroughly debunked. Others - such as blood spatter analysis, ballistics analysis, and arson science - have critics and supporters. Still other disciplines - such as DNA testing and genetic genealogy - are widely regarded as reliable. I’ve been fascinated with this subject for years and in 2023, I’ll be bringing you the cases that live or die by the science - the good, the bad, and the ugly. I hope you join me as I tell these stories.
