We had a join us while we were observing some ducks yesterday. He was a little apprehensive at first but eventually came over to say hello!

Did you know that Bidoof live in groups around river banks? It's where they lay their eggs. It also provides rocks and wood for them to chew on to keep their teeth from growing too long.

Hello everyone!! Quick update, working on a new video this weekend.

How to search your Pokébox!

I'll cover the new default searches, how to create and save custom searches and offer up some suggestions on some of the custom searches that I use on a regular basis!

If you've got some custom searches that you use a lot let me know, I may add them to my video!

I've also rebranded my social media's a little, changed the banners and added my new logo. Going for a more clean look, let me know what you think.

Hello Trainers!!

December's Community Day has been announced and it's going to be HUGE!! You can get all the details in the in-game news, so instead, I'm going to focus on the Pokemon that you'll want to focus on catching and evolving during the window the below are in no particular order.

1. Bagon - Outrage!! Dragon Pokemon are fantastic, and Salamence with Outrage is up there as one of the best.

2. Swinub - Swinub evolves to Mamoswine, the best ice attacker in the game. The CD move isn't the greatest if you don't want it for PVP but why pass up the opportunity to catch a good one.

3. Torchic - Blazekin with Blast Burn is one of the best fire types in the game.

4. Mudkip - Swampert with Hydro Cannon is a solid water attacker.

The rest are just nice to have.

2018 wise, there won't be excess spawns of the 2018 Community Day Pokemon, however, you can evolve and get the exclusive moves during the event window.

If PVP is your thing than a really good Umbreon with Last Resort is a must-have.
Blast Burn Charizard is also really good.

Smack Down Tyranitar is very good.
Squirtle to Blastoise to get Hyrdo Cannon
Chikorita to Meganium to get Frenzy Plant
Bulbasaur to Venusaur to get Frenzy Plant
Beldum to Metagross to get Meteor Mash

All good options.

Hello Trainers!!

Big news coming from Niantic today. A recent blog post outlined some very exciting things that they've been working on.

First, they talk about their new Wayfarer program, which if you haven't heard about is the long-awaited upgrade to Operation Portal Recall. This will allow Level 40 Players in Pokémon Go and level 10 players in Ingress to submit and review Pokéstops/Portals what Niantic is now calling "Wayspots"

They are also opening-up sponsorship stops to small and medium-sized businesses, which is something that could end up meaning a lot more stops and gyms especially in rural areas.

Next, they talk about, what I think, is the most exciting thing in the blog post. The Pokémon GO Buddy Adventure feature.
There isn't a lot of details here, but what they do reveal is very, very exciting. Niantic will be introducing a way for us to interact with your Pokémon, and your friends Pokemon at the same time!! This is incredibly exciting, as it opens up a LOT of possibilities on how we play Pokémon Go and how we interact with other trainers.

Finally, they cover something that has always bothered me about AR and that's Occlusion or the lack of it to be precise. Occlusion is the lack of your AR subject to move behind objects between you and them.

For example, If you place an Ekans in the grass any grass that's between you and where you placed the Ekans would be covered up by the Ekans itself. This breaks the illusion of AR, and is probably its greatest shortcoming. From what it sounds like, Niantic has solved this and will be implementing it in the coming months. I for one cannot wait for this, as I've had to scrap a lot of AR picture ideas that just wouldn't work then but (I hope) will when occlusion is a thing.

They also talk about opening up their AR platform to other companies to build upon, which in the long run may lead to bigger and better things for Pokémon GO.

To anybody who loves the AR features in Pokémon Go, this is big news and is very exciting! I've linked the original blog post below, I suggest you go check it out and watch the video's they've posted. They've been working on some really cool stuff.

Hello trainers!!

Please ensure your phone is set to automatically get the time from the network.

As part of its battle against cheating, Niantic has programmed a failsafe into the game surrounding the time and your location in-game.

So, if your time isn't set to automatic, raids may hatch at the wrong time, you may not see Pokemon spawning from incense and you will probably not get Meltan spawning off a Meltan box.

You can google how to check on your specific device. Typically it's in the general section of your phone's settings.

Halloween is coming to Pokemon Go!!

We got notification in-game today about the long-awaited Halloween event in Pokemon Go. This is one of my favorite events, so let's go through all the details!

Start: Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT
Finish: Friday, November 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT

New Shadow Pokemon!

We're getting a ton of new Shadow Pokemon released, so be prepared to go out and take down Team Go Rocket grunts to save these Pokemon!

Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras, Mareep, Seedot, Nuzleaf, Sableye, Trapinch, Cacnea, Shuppet, and Duskull

More Dark and Ghost Pokemon

Same as every year, Dark-type and Ghost-type Pokemon spawn will be booted. This includes the release of Yamask, which will have its shiny variant released at the same time!

Pikachu with a ... Mimikyu costume?!

That's right, no witch hat Pikachu this year. Instead, we're getting Bulbasaur wearing a Shedinja costume, Charmander wearing a Cubone costume, and Squirtle wearing Yamask costume in raids, and in the wild Pikachu wearing Mimikyu costume!

Darkrai in raids!

Darkrai will be appearing in five-star raids until November first as well, Darkrai will be the best Dark-type attacker in Pokemon Go so be sure to get out there and try and get yourself a good one!

Spooky Special Research!

There will also be a Halloween themed special research, so be on the lookout for that! Probably Spiritomb again. There will also be Halloween themed regular research as well.

New style items

You'll be able to purchase a Zubat Bag, a Pikachu Onesie, a Cubone Cap, a Litwick Cap, and a Mimikyu Bag!

Bonus bonus bonus!

As you would expect, there are candy related bonuses for the event. 2x Transfer candy is very exciting to me, I have a TON of legendaries that I've been hanging onto for just this occasion!

Smeargle is available in Pokemon GO!!!

All you need to do to catch one of your very own is pull out a Pokemon with the new go snapshot function and take a picture or two, or thousands...

It doesn't matter if you are in AR or AR+

When you are done taking your picture and go into the portion where you review your photos Smeargle may appear!! (Apparently this is bugged and he may not actually show up in your photo)

If you are lucky when you exit the photo review screen Smeargle will spawn at your feet and be captureable.

Some things to note:
1. Before embarking on a photo session it would be wise to ensure you have updated your game to the latest version available in your app store.

2. You can only catch 1 Smeargle per day.

3. Smeargle will learn the fast AND charged move of the Pokemon they photobomb.

4. You can photospam and have Smeargle appear. This method seems to bug out Smeargle showing up in your actual photo so be weary. Also these pictures are saved on your phone so be prepared to delete them all.

5. Smeargle will not appear on the screen with your pokemon in AR more before you take the picture.

6. Be patient. Some trainers are encountering Smeargle after just 1 or 2 photos while some are in the hundreds or thousands with no sign of the little artist.
