Zambia Story of the week
Keturah Musonda, A student at the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) on 26th June, 2024 became the first ever Zambian to graduate with a RED DEGREE called красный диплом in Medicine in the history of the University.

To shade a little light, the Russian educational system offers two degrees after one’s completion. A Blue and a Red Degree. However, to getting the latter isn’t a piece of cake. One needs to amass As and A+s for their entire study duration. This feet has been achieved by Dr. Keturah Musonda.

Having traveled to Russia for academics in 2017, she has rose to all academic challenges. Despite how hard it is to adapt to the language, later on acing exams with exceptional results, she was selected to be part of a special group of the university’s Brightest minds called Инкубатор (where the crème de la crème of the university reside).

She had, participated in scientific Olympiads within and outside university walls with dozens of scientific research papers to her name. Graduating with honours was almost assured.

Congratulations to Doctor Musonda on the milestone and acquiring your Doctorate degree. We are confident that your journey will inspire many.

A 19 YEAR OLD ZAMBIAN🇿🇲 DISCOVERS A FORMULA FOR FUEL PRODUCTION

A 19 year old Jowetti Mwambazi from Chipata City Eastern Part of Zambia has caught the attention of the city Mayor Mr. George Mwanza after discovering that the teenager has a formula of producing fuel from plastic garbage, and that is plastic and bottles.

In the pictures, Jowetti is showcasing the petrol and oil he has produced. Some community members have affirmed the viability of this young investor's product, having tested his petrol in five motorbikes with no reported issues.

President of Zambia Writes........🇿🇲❤️

With our emphasis on the need for value addition of our minerals, we went on a tour of Zambian company, JEWEL of Africa in Lusaka, this afternoon.

Zambia currently hosts some of the world's finest deposits of precious and semiprecious stones like emeralds and amethysts. These gemstones however are extracted and mostly processed and marketed outside our country.

We are resolved to reverse this trend as we have created an enabling policy environment for extracting and value addition of our minerals in our country.

It is commendable that local company, Jewel of Africa has been participating in mineral value addition. We encourage more companies both local and international to emulate them and set up gemstone processing, mounting and marketing locally for that is how we can create jobs and boost export earnings.

Young Zambian Entrepreneur Scoops 2.4million Investment at COP 28 in Dubai.

His name is Jonathan Chapi. The Founder of chapicoretech.a technology enterprise focused on climate adaptation & innovation. He graduated from Rusangu University with a degree in Computer science and decided to venture into Entrepreneurship by founding Chapi Core Tech in 2021.

Originally from Mansa, Jonathan relocated to Lusaka in 2021 to pursue his dream of setting up a tech company after graduating. Amidst the climate crisis, he identified an opportunity to use IoT technology to develop pay as you go systems for providers of clean energy solutions as a means of making them more affordable and accessible. An innovation that saw his enterprise scoop the first prize in the 2023 climate adaptation awards at COP 28 in Dubai walking away with a non-repeayable equity free investment of 2.4million kwacha.

Representing the enterprise at the award ceremony, Miriam Chapi the co-founder retariated the companies commitment to climate adaptation by using fourth industrial revolution technology. Through the secured investment they seek to set up an assembly point to produce clean energy solutions like solar incubators, brooders, water supply systems, lighting systems and use IoT technology to make these solutions more accessible on a pay as you go basis.
