A Rhode Island hero with deployments to Iraq and Egypt retired Friday after twenty-six years of combined service in the U.S. Army and R.I. Army National Guard. Inside R.I. thanks Col. Jason Lafferty for his service and wishes him the best on his future endeavors.

Cranston Police Press Release:

The Cranston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle in the photo, which was reported stolen last night around midnight in Raynham, MA. At approximately 4:16pm this afternoon, an alert was received by the Flock license plate reader system indicating the vehicle was stolen and traveling in Cranston. A Cranston Officer located the vehicle containing two occupants on Elmwood Avenue and attempted to pull it over. The operator refused to stop and the vehicle crossed into Warwick and struck the Officer’s cruiser at the intersection of Manson and Warwick Avenue. The suspects managed to avoid capture. Fortunately, the cruiser only sustained minor damage and the Officer was not injured. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Norwood Avenue. If anyone sees the vehicle, please contact the Cranston Police Department at 942-2211.

Johnston Police are seeking the public's help in locating 15-year-old Taya Scott, who has been missing since Wednesday, May 1, when she was last seen around 1:00 p.m.

Hair: Dark brown with red highlights
Clothing: Gray hoodie and black sweatpants

Traffic on 95N at exit 27 (Rt 117 exit) in Warwick is slow-going following an accident. First responders have begun arriving on scene.

An Inside R.I. viewer sent in this video of Warwick Police raiding a home on Eastgate Drive at approximately 4:45pm. The viewer reports watching the police surround the house with crime scene tape upon exiting.

Turkeys were greeting students at the entrance of CCRI in Warwick this morning. We can happily say that no turkeys or Inside R.I. photographers were harmed during this recording because our photographer quickly retreated upon being noticed, as you can see in the video. He told us he wasn’t interested in testing the notorious tempers of turkeys. Probably a wise move!

Inside R.I. is on the scene of an accident in Providence on 95 North in the vicinity of the post office. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or expect delays.
