"Updated Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)"

Immigration has recently updated the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) to add Veterinarians to the growing list of critical occupations sectors.

Employer-sponsored applicants in the PMSOL occupations will be given priority processing for both nomination and visa applications in the following visa types:

Subclass 482 - Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa
Subclass 494 - Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa
Subclass 186 - Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa
Subclass 187 - Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
Applicants and existing employer-sponsored visa holders on the PMSOL can also request a travel exemption to enter Australia during the current border closures. However, the mandatory 14-day quarantine period still applies and will still be at the traveller or sponsor's expense.

LATEST NEWS REGARDING BSMQ SKILLED PROGRAM:

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) is currently CLOSED, however, will re-open in the coming weeks in April 2021.

When the subclass 491 re-opens, if you submitted an EOI from 1 – 7 February, a new EOI will not be required.

The Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass 190) is CLOSED and will not re-open in April 2021 as quota will be filled with the current pipeline.

The subclass 190 will re-open in the next financial year once new nomination allocation has been received by the Department of Home Affairs.

Queensland 491-SBO (Small Business Owners) Pathway is OPEN.

Please note: amended requirements for 491-SBO commenced 1 April 2021.

South Australia Migration definition for closely related occupations:

Occupations with the same Skills Assessing Authority are closely related occupations i.e.., if 1st 2 digits of ANZSCO codes are matching then that is a closely related occupation.

For eg: You are working as a software engineer but you got a business analyst skills assessment then under SA rules u can claim that work exp to apply for 190/491.

Getting a nomination for a 482 or 494 approved is getting harder and harder. New legislation has been introduced for LMT. Now 3 ads will have to be posted instead of 2 including a government website jobactive...

(3) The nominated position must be advertised:

(a) on the Employment Department’s
Jobactive website (http://www.jobactive.gov.au); and

(b) in at least 2 advertisements on or in one or more of the following:

(i) a recruitment website with national reach in Australia (other than the website mentioned in paragraph (a));

(ii) print media with national reach in Australia;

(iii) radio with national reach in Australia;

(iv) if the approved sponsor is an accredited sponsor—the approved sponsor’s website.

(3A) Each advertisement of the nominated position for the purposes of subsection (3) must be commissioned or authorised by the approved sponsor.
