The Bolbok INHS Blue Dragons Volleyball Team (Girls) secured its spot to the Championship Round after achieving a strong win against Lipa City Senior High School.

What an amazing feat, journos!

The Catalyst Editor in Chief, Dereck Pagcaliwangan and Senior Broadcaster Marween John Hate added another feather on the school cap as they represent the school in this year's Youth Leadership Training.

Hate, likewise SSLG president and Eagle Scout, was elected as Youth City Vice Mayor (Hon Camille Lopez counterpart) while Pagcaliwangan, also an Eagle Scout , as Youth City 2nd Councilor (Hon. Gally Angeles counterpart).

Today, we proudly celebrate the fearless individuals who fought tirelessly to overcome obstacles for the ideals of freedom, justice, and equality. They ignited revolutions, wielded their pens as weapons, and faced countless battles—victories and defeats alike. Let us continue to honor the unwavering commitment and bravery of our past heroes, who made the seemingly impossible attainable for all Filipinos.

As we pay tribute to the souls of our heroes, let us also recognize the modern-day heroes who courageously demonstrate the talent and potential of Filipinos, fiercely defend our nation and champion initiatives for peace and fairness.

Printing Truths: Championing Press Freedom Through the Power of Pen

On this day, July 25th, we gather to momentously celebrate the wavering voices through writings of young campus journalists. Through the Republic Act No. 11440 that was declared on the year 2019, it gave us the upheld rights to celebrate the freedom we are secured with in wiriting.

Armed with pen which is mightier than sword, student journalists across the nation are gearing up to celebrate Campus Press Freedom Day. On this auspicious occasion, they champion the power of the printed word, the integrity of truth, and the unwavering spirit of journalistic freedom.

Yearly, we celebrate in union, the success of the country's campus press. Young writers are trained to be free spirited, to be the catalyst of truth, and to be just and honest in speaking for each individual. Through firm pen that each journalist hold, it writes the silenced truth that are tasked to be unveiled through forms of writing.

The fight for campus press freedom is not only about defending the rights of young campus journalists. This celebration is a beacon of hope in the journalism community. It takes huge courage to voice out the unheard, and it takes dedication to write for the truth. Passion is one of the key in wiriting, but so is being daring, just, and true.

New Leadership Takes the Helm: Supreme Secondary Learner Government Unveiled in Proclamation, Setting Course for Student Empowerment
May 22, 2024

The results of the 2024 SSLG elections have led to the proclamation ceremony that was held this Monday (May 20, 2024), at the school grounds for the newly elected Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers for the school year 2024-2025.

After the school’s flag ceremony, the new SSLG officers proudly marched their way through the crowd as they were being officially proclaimed by teachers and staff. Despite being under the heat of the sun, all went well during the proclamation.

Starting from Grade level representatives to Major position officers, all successfully made their way. As each of the officers walks, background music plays based on their respective parties. For the SINAG Partylist, “Liwanag sa Dilim” by Yeng Constantino, and the LIKAS Partylist, “Hiraya” by Seedee.

The Boys Scouts (BSP) and Girl Scouts (GSP) of our school helped make this ceremony possible by wearing their respective formal uniforms as they saluted in unison as our SSLG officers made their way through the crowd.

Results were already announced to the SSLG running candidates last Thursday, May 16, 2024, the same day as the elections. All results were confirmed to be accurate as they canvas the votes.

For the Grade level Representatives, starting with Grade 8 representatives; Alexa M. Sobsoban and Keisha Devaughn F. Fejer, Grade 9 representatives; Alizon James B. Altucin and Mariel Hannah Gwenyth Francisco, Grade 10 representatives; Marc Christian Icaro and Zhyrine Angeli A. Salazar, Grade 11 representatives; Jen Ariane G. Olgado and Althea Faye D. Sumadsad, and Grade 12 representatives; Kim Carlene V. Abel and Dereck S. Pangcaliwangan.

For the Major officers, starting with Protocol officer; Rizza Mae Frias, Public Information officer; Jade Rheane L. Guce, Auditor; Kelly Shane D. Sigue, Treasurer; Sophia Nicole P. Zara, Secretary; Arvin Aron E. De Guzman, Vice President; John Aldrien B. Loisaga, and President; Marween John V. Hate.

The flag ceremony ended with cheer as the crowd gave a loud applause to every officer. The SSLG President; Marween John V. Hate, ended the proclamation ceremony with a heartwarming speech.
