Did you know that I’ve been working in the advertising and marketing industry for 7+ years now? 🥰

I first got a taste for social media marketing at internships at fashion and accessories brands, then landed myself in agency land where I was exposed to social media ads, search ads, print, out-of-home, digital display and TV. I’ve worked on large brands including NSW Government, Red Rooster, Revlon and Jäegermeister along with many other small Australian businesses.

When you work with me, not only do you get access to me but you also benefit from the value of my real-world knowledge and experience. Working across so many industries and channels has led me here and has shaped how I help you.

Oh hey friends, long time no speak 😳😅😂 I excitedly announced my new biz name then unintentionally ghosted you 👻

Here’s a lil update on what’s been happening at Soluna HQ lately:

👉🏼 I have picked up some new clients so I have been getting them on board and implementing my new processes! I am currently at capacity which I am so grateful for. I work a part time job as well, so I’m sticking true to my boundaries to avoid burn out and to leave some space to pursue new creative ventures 🥰

👉🏼 Since my schedule has been pretty full, Instagram has been the last thing on my list BUT I’m aiming to change that soon. I want to treat my brand like I do for my clients, so I’ve enrolled in ’s Social CEO course to help me get clear and confident on putting myself out there. Not only will it help me but I know it will have a positive impact on my client work too.

👉🏼 I started training at the gym (properly) for the first time in my life in December and I’ve fallen in love with it. I recently joined a new gym close to home so I have been creating a new routine for myself. I work from home so getting out to the gym or for a walk is good for the soul 😂

That’s it in a nutshell! I’m doing a fun lil project soon so keep your eyes peeled for some BTS action 👀

Introducing Studio Soluna ✨

Em Hewitt Studio has been amazing for the past two years but last year I felt ready for a big shake up. Studio Soluna is a new chapter that has got me feeling inspired all over again 🥰

I’m still operating in the world of social media management but there are plans in the pipeline to introduce some new creative offerings very soon, I’m so excited to share more when they are ready to be revealed.

I want to say a huge thank you to Alex from Haven Studio for bringing my vision and dreams to life, plus helping me with the new name. You are incredible at what you do and I’m so grateful that we were able to work on this together 🤍

Last week I had the realisation that I was 1 week past my 2 year business anniversary!! It had completely flew by me 🙈

Then imposter syndrome hit me like a train 🥴 How s**t am I to not remember? I’m in a transition phase and haven’t been active on socials, so who am I to celebrate? But I say a huge eff off to my inner mean girl because it’s a massive achievement to be 2 years in 🎉 I’ve also been working my butt off behind the screen in real life and that is worth celebrating as well.

I’m so excited for what the next year holds for my biz journey and can’t wait to take you all along for the ride 🤍🤍🤍

Hello lovely friends, long time no speak! I am still in a place of transition and new/unsure territory with this account but I am still here quietly checking in on posts every now and again 😈 I’m still in lockdown but I am super grateful to feel like I’m thriving this time around 🥰

I’m into my 5th week of my not-so-new job which I am loving so much while also doing some freelance work for a local marketing agency so at the moment my “spare” time is spent filling up my cup. I’m doing a new photography course too (big ol’ hint for my new focus) but I’m not pushing myself to rush it as I would love to avoid burning myself out when I have no reason to 🤣 But now that I’m well into my new routine and more on top of my organisation I am aiming to give some love to this account again 🌈

I filmed a Reel a couple of weeks ago but it didn’t feel right to post it out of the blue so wanted to check in with an update first 🤍

Some amazing things in my life have fallen into place behind-the-scenes which means that I finally have the space to try something new. When a potential customer or client lands on your page, your grid is the first thing that they see so you want to show them that you are worth their energy and worth sticking around for. Seriously if you need a pep-up, go and watch it now! It was super inspiring and I loved learning about Kylie’s journey with building her cosmetics empire. Each part is only about 10 mins long 🙌🏼✨

After watching the Friends Reunion, my partner & I started to watch the series from the very start - I’d always seen bits & pieces but I had never watched it chronologically before 😅 (we’re up to season 7 now)

Easy-to-watch TV series are what I enjoy consuming the most, they give my brain a break after being switched on all day/week plus they provide a good laugh 🤣

Do you watch easy-going shows too? What are some of your favourites? The Office was another one I loved!

Reality check: You don’t need to be active on every single social media platform *mic drop* 💥

Why spread yourself so thin across all of them to just not get anywhere? Choose 2-3 social media platforms to focus on and do them well!

It may feel like you need to be on all of them but think of your ideal client or customer and where they hang out most. If they are most active on Instagram and TikTok then why are you busting your ass on Twitter?

If you don’t know which ones to choose, grab your journal and write down every single detail about your ideal customer and the life that they live, including which social media platforms they use and why they use them. Then voila, now you know which platforms to learn about and try! What are your faves to focus on? Right now mine are Instagram & TikTok 🤍

When you run your own business it’s so easy to compare yourself to others around you or on your social media feed, I am definitely guilty of getting sucked into this too. It is so empowering to know that we are unique and no one else is us. No one can do your business the same as you do so don’t let the idea of “saturated markets” or “I’m not good enough” stop you from achieving your dreams - there is enough room for all of us 💫

I’m so proud with how it turned out, I used a template by and omg it was worth every cent because the instructions were SO in-depth and I’ve now learnt more about using Squarespace - I highly recommend! 🥰💫

In my time I’ve tried and tested so many different platforms and websites and these are my top 3 faves that make managing socials between my clients and my own much easier 👇🏼
• : My favourite planning and scheduling app of all time! I prefer the interface and enjoy the insights that they provide, plus I love to see the feed grid laid out. They also offer auto-posting for Feed posts which is a lifesaver for those times where I’m out or on a holiday and more likely to miss my notifications 🙈 Plann is also an Aussie biz so I love supporting local!
• : I feel like if you’re in business this is a no-brainer and a must-have! It’s super easy to create social media graphics on here and I especially love the Pro version because I can save my brands colour palette and upload my brand fonts. I’m slowly getting into Photoshop for my own content but Canva will always hold a place in my heart 🤣 Another fab Aussie biz to get behind!
• : This is probably my favourite free stock photo site by far! The variety and quality of images on here is amazing and I can always find the perfect pics for what I need. You can also save collections that you can come back to later when you need them 👌🏼

Why did I start my business?

For years I had been sitting in my 9-5 jobs yearning for more, but I couldn’t quite work out what that ‘more’ was. I was always good at what I was doing but I didn’t love it, there was no fire burning inside of me. I was sick of commuting every day, leaving home early and getting back late, having no time for myself and feeling drained by the weekend. I couldn’t land a job in the area I wanted, which was in organic social media, and the constant burn out meant that I wanted to work on my own terms so I decided to take the plunge. It had been on my heart for three years so it felt empowering to finally take that step. I didn’t want to sit around any longer wondering “what if?”.

I intended to get another job on the side but then entered a global pandemic, thanks universe 🤣 so much more has happened since and it definitely hasn’t gone as I expected but I wouldn’t change it. I’ve learnt so much along the way, gained a lot of perspective and I wouldn’t be where I am without it.

This week marked one year of Em Hewitt Studio ✨

Starting this business was a dream I had for about three years and when I finally faced my fear to take the leap it opened up a lot of doors, lessons and growth for me in the year following. This leap has made me less scared to try new things, I’ve even started a uni course in a completely new field 🌿

2020 has been a heck of a year and despite everything I’ve made sure to sit back and recognise everything I have achieved and I am so bloody proud of myself! I would like to say a massive thank you to my fab clients who have stuck with me through these crazy times, I’ve loved working with your businesses this year 💛

I have a lot of new ideas for Em Hewitt Studio and I’m so excited to put it all into action in 2021 🥰✨

🌻 Hi! I’m Emma, the face behind Em Hewitt Studio.

I’ve always had a creative brain. Growing up I loved to dance and draw. When I was a teenager I was the friend with her point-and-shoot camera at parties (even nightclubs 🤦🏼‍♀️). I studied journalism at uni with the dream of working in a magazine. That dream quickly switched to a job in social media after a few creative internships. After three years in media agency land I made the decision to take the leap to chase my creative dreams and here we are.
