GOOD NEWS ALERT!
This juvenile northern gannett was found by a Dirty Bird Listener entangled in fishing line and hooks in Chicoteague. Luckily for this bird, the rescuer did the exact right things- contained the bird in a warm area, avoided stressing the bird, DID NOT try to feed it, and most importantly- TOOK IT TO A WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR! After surgery to remove hooks, this Northern Gannett is expected to eventually be re-released into the wild!
Thanks to for the information they shared on DBP episode with them that helped aid the rescue of this bird!
