Alchemy Dubs - Record label & Studio Alchemy Dubs is a record label specialised in dub music based in London.

We deal with music created on a vibe, made with love and dedication, and that promotes a positive attitude and message, often with a meditational side to it. We try to ride that fine line between the past, the present and the future; the played and the programmed; the analog and the digital; the youth and the elder… And we do it seeking the excellence in music, sound and design. We have a strong b

elief in dub as an artform and a strong love for all dub aesthetics and tools: tape delays, spring reverbs, sirens, syndrums, lickshot machines and all sorts of hand-build devices and weird instruments. We hope you enjoy our music as much as we enjoy making it! Alchemy Dubs is also a mix and mastering studio based in London.

Ojah & Nik Torp will be playing some tracks with The Metronome Steel Band and Kommun Sound this evening at Park Royal in West London. “Looking forward to seeing you all today, remember this is in a warehouse so you'll need to wrap up warm!

We'll open the doors at 5 with Djs Lili & Bisi A blending an eclectic mix of Afrobeats, hip hop and Amapiano accompanied by beer from Park Royal's own The Roundwood Project and delicious warming vegetable Tuscan stew Ribolita from Global Chef Kevin Mikailiam.

Live performances will start 7ish, here's the line-up:

Blaise Sound
Is kicking things off with a polyrhythmic sound installation influenced by the component elements of steel.

Nikolaj Torp Larsen
Nikolaj is bringing us an experiment in space using the sound of steel pans to trigger modular synthesisers and interacting with the sounds created.

Ojah/Alchemy Dubs
Nikolaj is then joining Ojah from Alchemy Dubs for "Steel Pans in Dub", mixing the past, present & future, the played and the programmed, the analogue and the digital.

Andreas Olsson
Will be exploring different rhythms, starting with waltz and ending with amapiano and West African inspired polyrhythms, always remaining focused on bass.

Metronomes Steel Orchestra

After almost a year waiting for the records, we finally present to you our new 7” record, a new collaboration between Ojah and Hada Guldris.

The A side contains the track “Time To Be Ready”, featuring jazz singer Hada Guldris on vocals, who delivers wonderful melodies and harmonies paired with a strong message in the lyrics. It was recorded a few years ago at the same time as their previous collaboration “Life Is Better When You Smile” that came out on this label in 2017 (ALDBS7004).

On the B side we find the track “Dub To Be Ready”, a trippy and introverted instrumental dub version full of effects and modulations, mixed live by Ojah on his analog board.

The great Aba Shanti I holding a copy of our latest 12” - Vin Gordon & The Alchemy Dubs Allstars - after his amazing UK 90’s two day session at Notting Hill Carnival 2019! He is one of our biggest inspirations and dub educators since we first saw him play in 1998 and completely blew our minds (and that was before the internet days so the level of surprise is probably hard to understand for many...) . Today, over 20 years later and seeing him play hundreds of times we are still blown away each time!
