Marcelo Pitaluga is reportedly “on the verge of becoming a Liverpool player”, as confirmed by his club, Fluminense, via Sport Witness. The Brazilian side expect to confirm the departure in the coming days.
Pitaluga, a 17-year-old goalkeeper, is fourth-choice at Fluminense but is viewed as a potential first-team option. Supporters say the plan was not to sell the young prospect, but a €1 million offer is too good to refuse as they deal with financial difficulties.
Pitaluga would become the second Brazilian goalkeeper at the club, with Alisson Becker already at Anfield.
