Dear Motorsport fans,

Since Team Legends decided that it was time to call it a day 6 long years ago the world has been riven with war, pandemic and political strife. We believe the timing of these events is no coincidence. In these uncertain times we here in Camp Legends have been thinking deeply about the problems the world is facing and how we could play our humble part in reversing the perilous course of world events.

After much consideration, we have reached the conclusion that what the world and indeed the human race desperately needs is ANOTHER BUNCH OF SELF INDULGENT OLDIES REFORMING TO SHART OUT THEIR NON-HITS OF YESTERYEAR!

That’s right folks, you heard it here first. Team Legends are bringing their patented brand of rock and roll chaos back for just a few special shows to remind the world what a good time looks like.

Come and veer wildly down memory lane with a foot on the foldback and one hand on the wheel at three special shows. First, we spend New Year’s Day afternoon on the lawn at MONA in Hobart, then The Old Bar in Fitzroy on Saturday February 24th with Digger & The Pussycats and Non Troppo before an afternoon show at The Barwon Club Hotel in Geelong on Sunday Feb 25th with Peeping Tom and Sacramento Sweaters. EXCITING NEWS! In celebration of the 25th anniversary of 69 Love Songs in 2024, we’ll be doing a limited run of shows next year in which we will perform all 69 songs in order over 2-night residencies in March-April 2024.

The tour will feature all the players from the 1999 triple disc, including Claudia Gonson, John Woo, Sam Davol, Shirley Simms, and Stephin Merritt, joined by Dudley Klute (East Coast only) and recent members Chris Ewen and Anthony Kaczynski. The Magnetic Fields will play the album as it was originally performed in the early 2000’s: the full album in order over 2 nights.

On this day we celebrate the/what woulda been the 80th birthday trip of Jerry Garcia, a man capable of channeling the constellations through his relentlessly searching guitar playing. Certainly the most pure musical force and conjurer of untameable wild beauty, like a supremely psychedelic Mickey Mouse from that Fantasia film. Worthy and deserving of every praise ever aimed at him. May we be truly Grateful to have lived and shared his musical genius in our own lifetime. Happy birthday great man, you are celebrated, loved and sorely missed. 💀⚡️🌹✌🏼
