To all the musicians out there. There are so many good people in this industry that when we see the true as****es I personally want to say, watch out for these people. But at the risk of legal troubles I will only say this. Somebody friended me on Twitter that I had previous dealings with. A couple years ago, in my association this person had told me to never use his name in association with another product, shall we call it. That stuck me as odd, and led to some research. What I discovered was disheartening, and the more I dug the worse it got. Jump ahead to current day and this person, who runs a music promotion service, also is responsible for another service, being a national Indie Chart. What an incredible coincidence, this week, on the international chart which is supposed to be a cross section of hundreds of radio stations charts, 15 of the Top 20 songs on that chart, his other company represents those artists. His promotional package promises chart appearances. I guess its easier when you have your own chart. He has also been known to post that songs he is promoting have been added by my station, and even to a station that hasnt been on the air for more than a year. My point isnt to point him out or his organizations. My hope is that more people will realize that not everyone who claims to be helping you, eve when you pay them, may not have your best interest in their plans. Take some time, ask others in the industry about people and do your own due diligence and research. The time and money you waste may be your own. Cheers to the many many many good ones out there... You know who you are and I will gladly share the good ones names.

The bad news is we havent been updating Twitter handles, so it will take some time to get everybody loaded back into the system.. I enjoy interacting with artists, promoters, writers etc. The joy of the music industry is the vastness of it in so many different areas. From the song writing, to sales, to radio to use of music in movies or tv advertising. Concerts, to tour operators taking fans to shows, the reach is amazing and incredible. The best part of all is in so many parts of that there are different opinions and in many cases there is no right or wrong. The key to so much of it, like a lot of the rest of life in general is the fact that while my opinion may be different, I should respect your right to your own opinion. I don't have to like your opinion or agree with it, but I should and i do respect it. Its those narrow minded people who will say everyone is entitled to their own opinion, as long as it is the same as mine. There are those that will hear something about another person, second hand and make a judgement about the person in the story. there are always two sides to a story. I have developed the keen ability to not give a damn. If someone doesn't like me, who cares. If someone wants to criticize me who cares. My best friend has very different views than me on many items, and yet we have been friends for 40 plus years. As I say, I am who I am. If you like me cool, if you don't cool. There are only so many hours in a day, so why waste my precious time worrying about the haters. More people should try that approach. If someone criticizes your music, who cares, its one person. Don't let one person or one opinion ruin your day, week month. They aren't worth it, and most don't have the credentials to assess on a professional level. As we just passed Fathers Day and another special day, I heard from 1 or my 3 children. 2 have been estranged for some time. Sorry this is personal. But i don't care. I can't make decisions for them, and wouldn't want to. Friends and family come and go. Its the people who are active in your life and may not always agree with you that count. I would take 1 of those friends over a million phony's any day. Cheers to you and anyone who cares. 10 years of radio with kb this year, I guess I am not that big of an as***le after all.

Amazon.ca Amazon.com I don't know how amazon stays in business. I have used a number of times. EVERY SINGLE TIME I ORDER there is delivery instructions that have NEVER been followed. Again today, directions not followed, sent a picture of the item sitting outside the door. and when you go to their website, you go around in circles. Join me on KB Radio this week as we discuss how companies like amazon stay in business with the absolute worst customer service. Amazon is so bad they make Rogers and Bell Canada customer service look good. And those two companies are bottom of the barrel bad. 2 more packages due tomorrow... lets see if they can get their heads out of their asses.

I recieved a disappointing letter from Get Me Radio! They are changing their business model and are going to charge stations like mine to be listed on their site starting next month. I started using them a long time ago when they were still starting out, and with their widgets, broadcasters like me give them free advertising on our websites, and I run on air commercial promos announcing you can listen on their app. I guess they have got so big they need to make more money. Within the next few days I will be removing KB and KB Country from the Get Me Radio! platform and personally deleting their app off my phone. While disappointing there are still many sites to find stations on starting with TuneIn, Online Radio Box, Radio.net and many others. My apologies to any listeners who use Getme to listen to the stations, even though it is going to be a small monthly payment, two things are wrong. I work on less than a shoestring budget, and second, this entire situation really feels crappy and leaves a bad taste if you know what I mean. You can always listen directly off the website, also. Thanks for all the support and supporters over the past 10 years. Heres to the next 10. www.kbradio.online
