~ఖిలాఫత్: ముస్లిం వేర్పాటువాదం-దేశవిభజన~

టర్కీలోని ఖలీఫా పదవిని పునరుద్ధరించాలంటూ సాగిన ఆందోళనే ఖిలాఫత్ ఉద్యమం. ప్రపంచంలోని మరే ముస్లిం దేశంగాని, ముస్లింగాని ఈ ఉద్యమంలో పాల్గొనలేదు. భారత్ తో కానీ, భారత్ లో అప్పట్లో సాగుతున్న స్వాతంత్ర్య ఉద్యమంతోకానీ ఏమాత్రం సంబంధంలేని ఈ ఉద్యమానికి మద్దతునివ్వాల్సిందేనంటూ గాంధీజీ కాంగ్రెస్ ను ఒప్పించారు. హిందూ, ముస్లిం ఐక్యత సాధిస్తే బ్రిటిష్ పాలనను అంతంచేయవచ్చన్న ఆయన అంచనాలు తల్లక్రిందులై చివరికి ముస్లిం వేర్పాటువాదం దేశ విభజనకు దారితీసింది.
