Keto Green, guest on episode 6, was in a bad accident earlier this month and is in need of some help.

If you’re able to spare a couple of dollars, I know he would be eternally grateful. Prayers and shares also appreciated.

Monday's Michigander...

This week we feature Megan Cottington-Heath, an award-winning family law attorney running for Circuit Court Judge in Saginaw, MI. She is mother to three, and married to Sara Cottington-Heath, a City of Saginaw firefighter. Megan has trained with first-class attorneys from Michigan and across the country. She is a passionate and experienced advocate. Sara and Megan have been married for 14 years, and currently reside in Saginaw.

The open seat she is running for is for family court law. Megan has practiced family law her whole career, and has the unique classification of being a child whose parents' divorce inspired her career path. At the age of 12, Megan decided she wanted to be a family law judge because she wanted to see a change in the family law system. The system has not changed in 25 years, and Megan is the person to make meaningful change.

Today, Megan is a trained mediator, and trauma-informed. Everything from the way her office is set up, to the staff she hires, is intentionally done to help her clients make their cases less adversarial. Megan is committed to fairness and equal access for justice for all. She was awarded the Holli Wallace Pro Bono attorney of the year award in 2019 for her commitment to Pro Bono work. As Circuit Court Judge, Megan will continue to believe that access to fair justice is not just for those with money, but for everyone.

Our musical guest this week is Alan Sloan. Simply put, Alan just loves music. A multi-instrumentalist, educator, performer, and writer, among other things, he keeps his hands in many different pots to satisfy his hunger. The leader of the Lansing band, Sloan and The Filthy Animals, Mr. Sloan also plays for churches, is a freelance performer/session musician, and is a dueling pianist, which has allowed him the opportunity to travel all over the United States. He lists a number of people as inspirations including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Chris Botti, and Cannonball Adderly.

His original music, Kayleigh's Song, will close out the show this week!

https://www.facebook.com/sloanandthefilthyanimals

SLOAN AND THE FILTHY ANIMALS is a 7 piece music machine guaranteed to get you on your feet and keep you there. Playing the funkiest versions of all of your favorite hits, this genre bending group sets the party on fire every time they hit the stage!!
