The Newspeak Post With this blog we hope to bring a new approach and perspective on national and local news and events.

About Pierre:

As per his Facebook “about me” page, “Growing up on the tough streets of Chicago’s fiercest neighborhoods, this man has a fear of nothing and no one. He is as benevolent as he is cantankerous; ‘ambivalence in all things’ is his motto. His coup de grace, his final and best asset, is his humility.”

In additional to all the above absolute truths Pierre also works for the federal gove

rnment and has several years of experience in national security matters. Pierre is the child of immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala and was raised by his French-name-loving mother. Never one to shy away from stereotypes, he was a terrible student and dropped out of high school as soon as was expected of him. Surprisingly, he received his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in political science/philosophy in 2007 and his master’s degree in public policy and administration from Northwestern University in 2014. He currently lives in Chicago with his lovely wife and newborn son. About JuanPablo:

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”

– Benjamin Franklin

JuanPablo was born and raised on the north side of Chicago. He is the son of two Colombian immigrants and a product of the Chicago Public School system. He graduated from Northside College Preparatory High School in 2004 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from DePaul University in 2010. In the summer of 2000 he joined the Chicago unit of the Young Marines and quickly rose to the billet of Company 1st Sergeant. Through this program he developed many of his leadership and management skills as well as a profound respect for the men and women in uniform. He continued to volunteer as an adult staff member after graduating high school. Following in his father’s footsteps, he also volunteered with Tierra Colombiana Folkloric Dance Company, the Hispanic Illinois State Law Enforcement Association and founded the Northside Alumni Association. He currently works for a municipal public works agency and resides on the northside of Chicago with his son.
