Thank you for another great year. I would be lying if I said this year didn’t represent a spiritual low point, but I am grateful to each and every one of you who have continued to support the label and to anyone who’s snagged a record. If you’ve missed our previous posts, Dark Trail is currently on hiatus to address our shipping queue: if you’re still waiting on an order, please know we’re working double time to get all unfulfilled orders resolved before the holiday rush, but if you’ve ordered in Q4, you may not receive your items until early January. We have been thoroughly blessed with filth. Returns of genre faves all round here! Fawn Limbs expanded their massacre with majesty, Sunflo'er deliver the mathcore with their bright and brilliant twist. TIJ rise from their tomb with all the bounce and riffs we'd hoped for.
Panopticon make you think "who would ever just listen to a post rock record ever again?". That's like living at a buffet and eating plain beans for the rest of your life.

Sad to report that due to factory error, Euclid C Finder will not be in hand on release date as expected. Despite having already taken a deposit months ago, our order was for some reason not moved into production, but we have received an updated shipping date of December 11th, so fortunately we’re only about 6-7 weeks behind the digital release.

Furthermore, the last couple years running Dark Trail have been extremely challenging, and this is yet another major discouragement. I have found myself struggling to just keep up with shipping and correspondence, so subsequently this will also be Dark Trail’s last major release (at least with a vinyl spread) for the foreseeable future, as I will be spending the next few weeks catching up on our massive shipping queue and the next year reevaluating the future of the label. Appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding, a line I’ve had to repeat too much lately.

We are very excited to announce the newest addition to our roster, Dallas, Texas based mathcore outfit Pillar of Wasps, who are to release their highly anticipated debut EP, “A Collective Hallucination,” on October 13th on CD via Dark Trail Records. Pillar of Wasps bring technical dissonance, crushing breakdowns, and otherworldly guitar textures that is truly suffocating, and has readily drawn comparisons to seminal bands such as Ion Dissonance and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. Recorded by Christian Haft with vocals done at Black Oil Recordings, the band has also recruited Kurama bassist / vocalist Tucker Bassar on vocals, appropriately tapping Kurama vocalist Davon Hernandez, River Elliott of Ballista, and Nathan Dally of Tooth & Nail for vocal guest spots. First single and preorders drop this Friday on Bandcamp.
