Ellipsis is a collection of poems that captures the human experience in all its forms: love, lust, depression, pain, hurt… It is a collection that details the human voyage through life.

In Ellipsis, you see the pain of unrequited love, the ferocity of lust and the spirituality of worship and surrender.

The poet also talks about the darkness in his head, and the depression and uncertainty he faces while also being conscious of social and political matters.

What makes Ellipsis an interesting collection is the multiplicity of its themes and the poet’s use of simple words and light metaphors.

Sometimes I Wish It Could Always Be Day is a collection of conscious poems that explore diverse themes like climate change, war, spirituality, racism, and so on. The diverse themes notwithstanding, what strings this collection of poems together is the passion and conviction of the poet.

Rich in metaphor and imagery and textured with flowery language, the poet hammers each message he is creating with the fire of a prophet and the stealth of a master of words.

In the first verse of Summation, he writes:
1 + 1 equals the white
rattling dark noses with the
wealth of their skin; equals
dark noses begging for spaces to breathe; for
voices to ride on; for justice, as if she’s wandered
away like death’s dear.

You’ll see this stealth and mastery of language throughout this collection. And this is what gives this collection its strength.

The city, with its unending buzz and ceaseless motion, has stories whispered in every corner. From the bustling markets to silent alleyways, from towering skyscrapers to hidden basements—every brick and pavement holds a tale.

Join us for Reciting the City, an evocative evening where some of Nigeria’s finest young poets breathe life into urban narratives. Experience the rhythm of traffic jams, the murmurs of evening vendors, the silent gazes of strangers, and the secret hopes of dreamers looking up at city lights.

Through their words, Iyanu Adebiyi, Tobi Abiodun, IB, Faith Moyosore, Oloyede Tom, and Taiye Ojo, will transport you to familiar lanes and unknown pathways, revealing the heart and soul of the city.

An object will remain in a state of inertia until acted upon by an external force. This is what 'Awaken Your Inner Lion' is: it's a call for us to rouse the lion within us; to stir from our state of passiveness and take the reins of our lives.

In this poignant and reflective book, Tolu Akinyemi writes about vital touchpoints in life. It's a book that gives clarity to those in search of it, and courage to those who're scared of launching into the unknown.

Drawing from his own life, he not only motivates, but imparts principles that can help one make the most of life.

In it, he critiques society, dissecting issues of racism and immorality in society.

What makes this book interesting is how the writer made his point from an informed position on all the subjects he tackled. When this book is not motivating and inspiring you to take brave steps, it is educating you on crucial issues of life or making commentary on the moral state of the world.

The author's writing style makes this book enjoyable. Each essay begins with a quote that the chapter is anchored on—words that one can reflect upon long after reading the book.

In 'Awaken Your Inner Lion', Tolu Akinyemi has given the world an offering that comes from his soul; and so it has the power to impact and stir one to action.

Call it a life manual for the girl-child and you wouldn’t be wrong. But Letter to Lilly goes beyond that. It is a collection of poems that preaches defiance against accepted order.

In all, this is a collection of poems that every girl-child should own. It is a pamphlet that will embolden every reader to own her space, to make her voice heard in society, in her workplace… anywhere and everywhere.

The first collection of short stories by this multi-talented author entwines everyday events that are articulated in excellent storytelling. The title story Inferno of Silence portrays men’s societal challenges and the unspoken truths and burdens that men bear. While Black Lives Matter shows the firsthand trauma of a man facing racism as a footballer plying his trade in Europe.

A poignant collection of short stories that would delight lovers of literary fiction.

“I was first captivated by the title, On the Train to Hell, as I couldn’t tell what the entire book would be all about. Reading it was amazing to me. I wasn’t disappointed, the author has painted a great imagery, with a blend of grief, hope and sorrow. This was absolutely enjoyable and I will be checking out more of his works.” — Alfred Scott

“The author covered so many universal aspects of the human experience. I felt the rage the author feels when writing about climate change, poverty and the cost of living, regrets, love and the agony it can cause, the effects of the pandemic and the ways in which we destroy Mother Nature.

Truly an impassioned and ardent exploration into some very heavy and important topics of today.” — Meghan Ginelli
