The Civil Service Commission (CSC) reminded registered examinees of the 15 March 2020 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to claim the refund of their PHP500 application fee.

As stated in Examination Advisory No. 1, s. 2021 dated 30 April 2021, as amended, availing of the refund shall be until December 2021. (Click to read the advisory: https://bit.ly/3k6FsWq)

The CSC said that claiming the refund may be done in person, through bank deposit, or through the services of authorized remittance centers or payment facilities. Complete guidelines are detailed in the said exam advisory.

Examinees should check the exact refund procedure set by the CSC Regional/Field Office (CSC RO/FO) concerned, as the case may differ per region or province.

𝟭. CSC NCR registered examinees should submit their requests for refund by accomplishing the prescribed Google Form which could be accessed through this link: https://forms.gle/3uP25ceFXHVB7FKC8. Please
accomplish the Google Form only once.

Sending of refund requests through other means shall NOT be entertained.

𝟮. Attach the following documentary requirements to the form in the abovementioned link:

a. Scanned copy of the accomplished Request for Refund Form (RRF) which could be downloaded from the CSC Website at http://www.csc.gov.ph/2014-02-21-08-28-23/pdf-files/category/1768-exam-advisory-no-1-s-

𝟰. The refund fee of five hundred pesos (Php 500.00) cash per registered examinee will be released/claimed at any branch of PALAWAN PAWNSHOP nationwide. Palawan Pawnshop will notify the Refundee through SMS using the mobile number indicated in the RRF, as to the period within which to claim the refund, including the transaction code.

𝟱. In claiming, the Refundee must accomplish and sign the “Palawan Express Pera Padala Received Money Form” (PEPPRMF) as acknowledgement for the receipt of the refund fee. The sender to be indicated in the PEPPRMF is CSC-NCR. The Refundee shall NOT be charged with any fee in claiming the refund fee if claimed within the allowable period of notification indicated in the SMS from Palawan Pawnshop.

𝟲. The Refundee shall also be required to present the following requirements upon claiming the refund fee with Palawan Pawnshop:

a. 15 MARCH 2020 CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS SUSPENDED

In compliance to Proclamation No. 922 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines and calling for the implementation of urgent, critical measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) suspends the conduct of the 15 March 2020 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) nationwide until further notice.

The CS exams was supposed to be held in 66 testing locations nationwide with an estimated total of 293,845 individuals nationwide registered to take the test. Of the figure, an estimated 253,419 will take the Professional Level of exam while an estimated 40,426 will attempt to hurdle the Subprofessional Level. Thus, it is necessary to suspend the exams as a preemptive health measure to mitigate the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and to support the national and local government units in undertaking appropriate response and measures in a timely manner to curtail and eliminate the COVID-19 threat.
