soo youâre trying to create a content calendar, but what should you even be posting on social media? đ§
following the 80/20 rule is a great way to start testing out content with your audience to see what they gravitate to and engage with:
â¨80% of your posts should be to inform, educate, or entertain your audience - after staying in touch with family and friends, the top reason users stay on social media is to be entertained and mentally unwind, according to âs 2024 social trends calendar. entertainment isnât always just posting a meme; although that can be a part of it, it can also be getting inspiration, obtaining new information, or feeling motivated. try to think of what YOU have loved to see on other brands' social media and implement that on your own.
â¨20% of your posts should be to promote your business - 34% of consumers say that itâs a major turn-off if brands are too focused on self-promotion on social media. although we are always wanting to show off that new amazing product we just made, focusing your content too much on selling isnât always going to attract people to your page! through posting content like the above that relates to your products, you will get the engagement you want while still promoting your brand. social media is built off of interactions between creators and consumers, so focusing on creating engaging content will not only increase your potential reach for new clients but also their affinity, trust, and eventually desire to become loyal costumers.
start using this formula to help build an audience, and then use your analytics to see what content users are engaging with the most and create more of that!
