Skylark Soul Company is proud to present the first vinyl release from The Brothers Vanguard, Electriq - a psyche pop exploration from talented songwriter/musician/producers John Dufilho and Aaron Kelley. The 7” release for “Dominoes” b/w a special B-side edit of “Only The Strange Ones Know”, featuring vocalist Jordan Coffing, blesses the listeners ears with dreamy psyche pop bathing in lush production and dusted hypnotic grooves.

Dufilho and Kelley have known each other for years, dating to back to recording sessions for Dufilho-led projects like Deathray Davies and I Love Math. Back in 2019, Skylark Soul Co. co-founder Skin Wade asked the two to work together and collaborate on a Library Music Project produced in the tradition of the European Library Labels of the 70s that often borrowed from Psyche Music and 60s French Pop.

Both nights were simply amazing and to have Shabazz 3 on the bill for their first performance in awhile to celebrate the reissue of their Late Nite album was special. Originally released in very limited quantities in 2000, “Late Nite With Shabazz 3” has become a highly collectible album in the US and overseas with original copies trading hands for $200+! Blending elements of West Coast and Southern hip hop, it has become a lost Texas treasure that we’re pleased to see receive a wider release for a new generation of hip hop collectors. 🤩 That feeling when a fully realized project comes in! We started the Wasafiri record in June 2021 and the way it has all come together has exceeded our expectations. We’re continuing to take pre-orders for the limited nebula [100] and clear vinyl [200] issues. All pre-orders include an entry for a copy of the test pressing of which only 10 copies exist. Shipping in November!
