This track has been a journey of over a decade. Some of the lyrics I wrote back in 2008, but the main bit I originally wrote for someone else. Lucky for me, they were rejected and they ended up being on MY track as part of MY upcoming EP.
I wrote the chorus putting myself in someone else’s shoes who’s journey inspired me, a life turned upside down, expectations shattered with a different future ahead than was laid out. As a songwriter you can find yourself in a role of making other people’s stories heard and sing them as if they are your own. I love drawing inspiration from outside of myself telling the unheard stories of the people around us.

City Lights is true evidence that your creativity will never be in vain. There will come a day, even a decade down the line where what you create today will be needed then. Never dismiss the process and journey. This itself it the true destination.

Now I have arrived at a finished product with incredible support already, I hope you will immerse yourself in this story of hopes lost and hopes remain.
