Just a few thoughts on getting back up again, and how I'm getting back in shape after a prolonged absence: https://quickquiver.com/2022/05/02/getting-back-up-again/

Getting Back Up Again by Danielle | Posted on May 2, 2022 I’ve got plenty of reasons to get back up, not the least of which is this fun setup. A few years ago, I broke my wrist. The inability to skate as much while I healed is what lead me to want to write this blog. I don’t talk about it much, ...

Were you just thinking to yourself, "golly, all this walking to the office is so slow?" What? Work from home? Pandemic? Oh, well, if you are still getting to work the slow way, maybe you've thought of commuting via longboard? Here's what to look for https://quickquiver.com/2021/11/07/what-makes-a-good-commuter/

What Makes a Good Commuter? by Danielle | Posted on November 7, 2021 I may not be back to my best yet, but I’ve been getting there. Okay, I’m actually pretty far from it. Leg muscles really do need a lot of work, don’t they? In the time until I’m ready to really commit to reviews by thrashin...

tl;dr? I'm still here, getting back into skating after some health issues, and can't wait to be back to 100%. Thanks for your patience! https://quickquiver.com/2021/08/29/still-here/

Still Here! by Danielle | Posted on August 29, 2021 Full disclosure, this is at the top of my to-review list. I have loved skating it. A long time ago, I remember reading a blog about blogging. It said something like, “Hot pro tip: never apologize for or explain periods of absence, it makes you se...

Thinking about getting into skating but don't know where to start? Maybe this guide will help! https://quickquiver.com/2021/06/15/first-skateboards-for-each-category-2021/

First Skateboards for Each Category (2021) by Danielle | Posted on June 15, 2021 A few years ago, I made a post for beginners looking to get a good first setup. The idea was to create a list of skateboards that would be easy to start with. The whole purpose was to make sure your first board is one t...

Landyachtz just revealed their 2021 surf skates. So, naturally, here's a review of their 2020 Butter Walnut Lines surf skate: https://quickquiver.com/2021/03/29/landyachtz-surf-skate-review-the-surf-cruiser/

Landyachtz Surf Skate Review: The Surf Cruiser (2020 Edition) by Danielle | Posted on March 29, 2021March 29, 2021 Many surf skates have a cruiser-like shape: pointed nose, a bit of a tail and a small size, so what do I mean by a “surf cruiser?” Aren’t many complete surf skates “surf cruiser...

I needed a deck that could do it all. I picked up the Zenit Morning Wood V2. It was a good choice: https://quickquiver.com/2020/11/28/zenit-morning-wood-v2-review-the-jack-of-all-trades-deck/

Zenit Morning Wood V2 Review: The Jack of all Trades Deck by Danielle | Posted on November 28, 2020 I test a lot of setups. I wanted something that would be versatile. Something that I could test RKP and TKP trucks with, different wheel sizes, and do some freeriding and technical sliding. It needed....

Started testing two new setups over the weekend! First is the new Bear Grizzly Gen 6 trucks, in a 50°/40° freeride setup. So far, lots of fun! Impressive improvement over the Gen 5. Lots of stability and confidence, fast turn in, but could be a little faster returning to center. No slop, and no wobbles. Really going to be excellent for budget downhill/fast freeride.

As for the other setup, I went a little off script.
The new 2020 Drop Cat 33 (tweaked neck and standing platform), Paris V2 43° baseplates, 165mm V3 hangers, double barrel bushings, and Powell Peralta 66mm Snakes. The latter being the "grooved" rather than stoneground variety, so something new. Loving this wacky setup as well.

Full reviews likely in a few weeks!

Some decks just make a good platform for experimentation. The Dugout has a good shape that makes it fun to play with. Here are a few things I tried: https://quickquiver.com/2020/02/16/dugout-review-bonus-other-setups/

Dugout Review Bonus: Other Setups! by Danielle | Posted on February 16, 2020 Yes, I put my downhill/freeride trucks (Paris Savants) on my Dugout. When you’re looking at a setup like the Dugout, you could consider just the complete from the company. After all, they did a great job of creating a sol...

Here's a quick guide to getting your truck and wheel setup to match the width of your deck: https://quickquiver.com/2020/02/09/matching-your-wheels-and-trucks-with-your-deck-the-formula/

Matching Your Wheels and Trucks with Your Deck: The Formula by Danielle | Posted on February 9, 2020 There are lots of reasons you may want your wheels to line up with the edges of your deck. You don’t want to kick your wheels as you skate, you want to have full leverage over your trucks without i...

Picking Out Safety Gear by Danielle | Posted on January 27, 2020January 27, 2020 I finally went out of my way to grab an Impossible Whopper the other day. I rarely have fast food, but it is a low priced Impossible Burger. With so many restaurants charging over $15 for one, it’s great to find that ...

A Quick Quiver Quiver Snapshot by Danielle | Posted on January 20, 2020 I own 13 completed skateboards. It’s a lucky number I should stop there, but I definitely won’t. When people find out about that, they normally ask why, or when the museum is opening up. It is a lot of decks, after all. Why ...

Rain Board 2.0: All Aluminum Fury by Danielle | Posted on December 18, 2019 Be careful on slick surfaces. Rain isn’t good for skateboards. The water can warp your wood, you could get mold and rot between the layers of your deck, some of the metal parts of your hardware and trucks can rust, your be...

Giving Back as a Skater This Holiday Season by Danielle | Posted on December 1, 2019December 2, 2019 Photo: Skate Aid I got emails from Landyachtz and Bustin Boards that made me think. They were both not only running holiday promotions, but donating to charities as well. That seemed great, but I thi...
