Shortly after the young Sophie got to know and love the magician Hauro, she is transformed from a malicious witch into a 90-year-old woman. Determined to lift the curse, Sophie initially wanders aimlessly through the country. She meets a living scarecrow who shows her the way to the moving castle, where the magician and his helpers are.
