No Nollywood movie tops Brotherhood for now, but ANIKULAPO holds its head high among the best of 2022 so far.

There is a lot to be impressed about, especially if I am to consider the richness of culture displayed in the story, soundtrack, costumes and the set.

Even beyond that, the movie left me thinking about how flawed we all are, and how we are quick to judge other people for their flaws without considering how we (and the society) may have contributed to those flaws.

My point is fully expressed in the characters of Saro and Arolake.

Saro may be judged for his actions in the movie, but remember that he is a broken man sold into slavery very early in life as repayment of debt owed by his parents. That suggests that he lacked any proper upbringing or mentoring that could have shaped his character to exemplary levels.

He however tried to gather his life together by moving into a new town but he somehow found himself in the arms of a sugar mummy who further messed up with his feelings with bu**um and money. 😂

If you also consider how his romance with Arolake started, you may not be surprised that he ended up treating her that way.

This young man was on his way home when he was ambushed by a woman who pushed him to the floor and had s*x with him. Flip that scene around, and there would be mayhem unleashed by a particular gender. 🙄🙄🙄

But then, Saro enjoyed the whirlwind romance until they were caught and he died his first death. After that, he continued with Arolake (out of gratitude) until his Yoruba Demon DNA became fully activated by “yansh”. 😂

His ultimate undoing was his foolishness sha.

No man in his right mind should turn on a woman who has been there for him after he lost everything. But Saro lost his mind after getting too comfortable.

That’s a lesson for the rest of us.

Arolake might also be blamed for leaving the palace in Oyo to run away with Saro, but we should not forget that she was also forcefully married off as a child against her will. She had no choice and no love for the King.

Furthermore, she was thrown in the midst of two other palace wives who hated her, tried to kill her once and would keep trying.

If na you dey her postion, you sef go run follow fine man! 😂

Sometimes I feel nature is unfair to you. But you are a miracle.

It's you who bleeds blood every month with severe pains and crams. Even in those pains, you still have to put things together for a normal day. The cooking, washing, etc.

It's you who carry another human inside you for 9months. The inconvenience, the discomfort, the sacrifice, and carefulness. You sacrifice what makes you happy just to keep another life healthy.

When it's time to deliver, your life is on the line. It's a 50/50 chance for you. You may live and you may die. But being the life-giver you are, you will choose the life of a new stranger over yours.

Even the process is not favorable to you. Either the pains of childbirth or surgery.

After it all, you still carry yourself up and continue life activities with bandage and pains. But what is miraculous about this all is the smile you put on your face while facing all this.

Halima Abubakar has reacted after Apostle Johnson Suleman issued a cease and desist notice and threatened to sue her.

The Nollywood actress has been speaking up in recent months about her alleged affair with the pastor. She claimed he is responsible for her long-term ailment and also alleged he told her he was divorced at the time she carried on an affair with him.

She also claimed that Mr Suleman had s*xual affairs with other actresses and she has been calling out Shan George for denying that she is one of the actresses.

On Instagram, she said that her life is in danger and that the cleric should be held responsible if anything happens to her.

Suleman, through his legal representatives, Ephesus Lex Attorneys & Solicitors, has now issued a cease and desist notice to the actress.

In the notice signed by Mr Rodney Adzuanaga, the pastor accused Halima Abubakar of publishing malicious, defamatory, and demeaning statements about him on several blogs.

The notice says that the statements are false, untrue, malicious, defamatory, baseless, and a tool for blackmailing Apostle Suleman while reducing him in the eyes of responsible and right-thinking members of society.

"We, therefore, demand that you cease from further publication of the said defamatory statements or any other statements and or publication intended to injure the reputation of our client," it stated.

The notice also stated that Ms Abubakar must publish a retraction of her earlier statements in five national dailies within three days from Thursday, September 29.

It also demanded that she delivers a letter to the Apostle stating her full assurance and undertaking that she will desist from publishing previous and further defamatory statements against him.

She must also repay him for all costs incurred in defending and protecting his reputation.

Failure to comply will lead to a civil suit against her, it warned.

Despite the notice, all the allegations Halima made against Suleman remain on her Instagram page.

Halima also took to her Instagram Story to tell Suleman that she will not comply and will rather meet him in court.

She wrote: "JS, sure, see you at the court."

Decomposed bodies of two women have been found in a shallow grave in the office of a medical doctor, Abass Adio Adebowale Adeyemi, in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state.

It would be recalled that the suspect, who hails from Offa LGA of Kwara State, was arrested for k!lling a cab driver, Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere.

He allegedly killed the victim in Benin City, Edo state, dumped his co**se at Otofure community on the Benin-Lagos highway and absconded with the deceased's vehicle.

Spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement on Sunday, October 2, said the suspect also confessed to k!lling his girlfriend, one Ifeoluwa, who was declared missing in Tanke area of Ilorin in 2021.

According to the PPRO, the latest gruesome discovery was made after the newly posted State Commissioner of Police, CP Paul Odama, ordered a high-powered investigation into the case of a missing woman identified as Nofisat Halidu.

During investigation, the suspect, who is the Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital, led the team to the hospital where his office was forced opened.

The freshly cemented floor tiles in his office were broken and the remains of an unidentified woman were found buried in the shallow grave.

Further search of the office led to the opening of a trash can where another body of a lady later identified as missing Nofisat Halidu, was discovered.


Other items recovered in the detained doctors office include, two telephone handsets found in the hand bag of one of the ladies found in the doctor's drawer. Two female handbags, a female wig, a veil and a female pants.


In furtherance of the investigation, the Kwara CP had contacted the Edo State Police Command requesting for the release of the suspect to the Kwara State Police Command to answer some questions regarding the discoveries in his office
