Joy of Music International Invitational Piano Competition 2024 is a huge success with 614 entries from countries and regions including China, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Having completed the Preliminary and Final round, our panel of jury, made up of renowned music educators from Canada, China and USA, have selected the ultimate winners for the competition.

Winners of the same prizes are listed in chronological order of the time they submitted their videos.

We cordially congratulate all of the above winners! Trophies and Certificates will be delivered to your address as soon as it is possible.

Our cloud award presentation ceremony will be made online February 29, 2024 on our official website, Facebook, Youtube and WeChat. Please tune in for the grand celebration!

PRELIMINARY ROUND RESULTS

Our panel of our panel of jurors have selected 299 contestants to go to the final round. These contestants are from countries and regions including China, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Please click on the attached images for a full list of shortlisted contestants.

ABOUT FINAL ROUND REPERTOIRE AND VIDEO SUBMISSION

Shortlisted Amateur Division contestants who wish to use the same repertoire as that of the Preliminary Round are not required to submit their videos again. You can simply send us an email with these details: contestant’s name, division and category, and this sentence, “My Final Round repertoire is the same as that of the Preliminary round.”

Shortlisted Amateur Division contestants who wish to submit a different repertoire for the final round can follow the video submission instruction below.

Shortlisted professional division contestants are required to submit a different repertoire for the final round. They should follow the video submission instruction below.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
Please follow the video submission procedures carefully. Once submitted, no alteration or changes will be allowed. Applicants will be disqualified if their videos do not meet the following requirements.

•Video shooting: MOV or MP4 format, 1080p or 4k resolution, 16:9 horizontal; with pianist at the centre of the frame and whose hands and face are clearly visible. Cameras should be stable, preferably on a tripod or stand. Hand-held cameras are not suitable. The entire song must be filmed in one continuous shot. We do not accept any altered, edited, enhanced and beautified videos.

•Filming background: well-lit clean and uncluttered background, audio volume should be in appropriate level with no background noise.
•Contestants: should be in performance attire, school or military uniform. The video begins with the contestant seated and ready to play. The video ends as the repertoire finishes with the contestant remains seated and hands lifted off the keyboard. Contestants are not allowed to speak.

Here, we would like to pay tribute to teachers who have shown tremendous commitment and success in music education. This year, the awards of “Exceptional Teacher” are presented to Ms Ula Zhang from Canada and Ms Lu Lu from the USA. The honour of “ Outstanding Teacher” is awarded to Ms Li Honngmei and Ms Li Bing.

Let us now enjoy a remarkable performance by Chen Ziyan, one of the First Prize winners of the Professional Division. The repertoire title is Joyous Dance Amidst Snow by Zhao Zeming.

Messages from our panel of jury

The past 18 months have been particularly difficult for our global community. Amidst the fear and anxiety of COVID-19, we try as hard as we can to maintain a balance between isolation and normality.

With commitment and hard work, Canada “Joy of Music” International Invitational Piano Competition 2021 has been a great success!
