Marvin Joles Jr. is the father of Marvin Joles (Owner of Blacktop Banter, Wis-Coat Asphalt Maintenance and Dubuque Asphalt Maintenance) and Jesse Joles (Owner of JJ Premium Sealers and winner of Pave/X's 2024 Pavement Award for Small Sealing and Striping). He's worked in the asphalt industry for nearly his entirely life and his boys, by extension, were out on the pavement nearly as soon as they could walk. Life was never easy for the Joles family and Marvin Joles Jr. would be the first to tell you that he wishes he could go back and do a lot of things differently in raising his boys. But he's also had a front row seat to watch what they've been able to accomplish on their own either because of, or in spite of, their raising. He was recently asked about his boys and their success.
