Donât let acne stop you.
Acne is hard and it takes a lot to adjust to, especially if youâre like me and it happened so quickly. There is so much shame around it and harmful stereotypes about why people have acne that that are just plain wrong and do more damage than good (please donât ask someone with acne if they wash their face, just donât).
Iâm not saying accepting acne is easy - itâs a challenge but it is so freeing when it canât hold you back anymore. Even though my acne isnât severe anymore, learning to accept it has helped with my hormonal breakouts now, because Iâm never ashamed of them anymore.
Remind yourself daily that you are worthy. That you are beautiful no matter what your skin looks like. That acne is nothing to be ashamed of.

Just skin picking things x
Seeing the humour in skin picking is sometimes the only way forwardđźâđš
But if youâve done any picking today (like skin picking, biting your nails or even scalp picking) when you promised yourself you wouldnât, I want you to remind yourself that one small step back doesnât mean all your progress is gone. Stopping picking behaviours is hard, donât beat yourself up if youâve had one or two bumps in the road. You are doing well and Iâm proud of you.
Your texture is not disgusting.
It doesnât make you ugly, and it doesnât make you dirty, and it doesnât mean you canât look after yourself.
Texture is NORMAL, and Iâm tired of people trying to tell me that textureless skin is the ideal. No oneâs skin is texture free all the time, so why does society pretend that it is?
Whatever you want to do with your textured skin is up to you, but donât let society make you think you arenât normal because of it.
Which affirmation are you choosing today?
Something to remind yourself of today.
Acne could never make you worth less. Donât ever let anyone make you feel that way, because you donât deserve it.
6 months of đ«¶đ»âš
I consistently used their microneedling tool, the Banisher 2.0 along with their other products like the banish serum and vitamin c creme and I think the results speak for themselvesđ«Ą

Donât listen to people that say acne is ugly.
Unless theyâve experienced it before, what would they know about having acne?
What would they know about how worthless beauty standards make you feel, how your skin feels wrong and that it needs to be clear and acne free in order for you to be seen as normal?
What would they know about buying endless products that only end up damaging your skin rather than helping it in a desperate attempt to remove any sign of texture, lump and bump?
What would they know about how depressed it can make you feel, how you can look in the mirror and not recognise yourself because you feel so low? How them saying âyour acne is uglyâ only reinforces how you view yourself?
Acne is hard enough to deal with without other people giving you their unsolicited opinions and advice that is usually just plain wrong anyway.
Acne isnât something that makes you ugly or worthless. You are beautiful and so is your skin, whatever its condition so donât listen to anyone telling you otherwise.
Rating my real skin makeup looks part 2
Which one is your fave?
Clear skin is an unrealistic standard.
Because clear skin isnât real skin. Itâs what society has told you is normal because to them, itâs acceptable.
Donât forget that your skin is normal, whatever its condition. And we shouldnât feel like we need to conform to what society thinks is acceptable, especially when not a single person on this earth has âclearâ skin 24/7.
You arenât ugly if you look like this.
Acne is something normal, something that a very large percentage of the worldâs population deals with on a daily basis. So why should something so normal be viewed as ugly? Why are we not allowed to see the beauty in it?
Let me tell you, I find acne beautiful and no one should be made to feel less because they are experiencing it. Acne is normal and donât EVER forget that.
Swipe for the cutest headband youâve ever seenđ
Textured skin doesnât make you dirty.
Textured skin needs to be normalised to show people there is nothing wrong with it. Itâs not shameful, itâs not embarrassing and it doesnât make you worthless.
Almost every human on the earth has textured, so why are we taught to feel shame about it?
Which one is your fave?
Mine is definitely NOT pink graphic linerđ„Ž
I felt so much shame with my acne.
I couldnât see the beauty in it when I first developed my acne. I felt that I needed to cover it in order to feel normal. But it doesnât have to be that way. Beauty and acne go hand in hand in my opinion.
Donât let your texture ruin your self worth.
Feeling ugly, worthless, even guilty is pretty normal when you have textured skin. I felt this way because itâs all I was taught. Clear skin only or there is something wrong with you.
But it doesnât have to be that way. Because who said textured skin wasnât healthy in the first place?
Just because someone has clear skin, does NOT mean itâs healthy.
There is beauty in textured skin. And your natural, normal skin is beautiful to me.
