How often do you tidy up your kids playroom/ area?

When the playroom is clean it has to be captured! Seriously! I used to clean Archie’s playroom multiple times a day and then cut down to 2 times - once when he goes down for a nap and once after bedtime. It is so time consuming (even with toy rotation) and a bit overwhelming and frustrating when he can turn the entire room upside down if 5 minutes flat. I’ve just come to accept and embrace the mess because it means he’s having fun and learning in the process.

Christmas can be pretty controversial when you become a parent.

When Josh and I decided on gentle parenting a big discussion was how we were going to celebrate Christmas and Santa. We both loved the magic that Christmas had to offer but some “traditions” didn’t sit right with us.

For us we’ve decided Santa brings all kids gifts no matter what. Because he is pure and unconditional. They don’t have to be earned by being “nice” and they can’t be taken away by being “naughty”.

I only recently learned the TRUE meaning of elf on the shelf and am honestly shocked this is a thing. It’s part of a modern scare tactic that prey on children. This creepy little toy stalks children in their homes and reports back to Santa with wether they’ve been good or bad. While I have seen some alternative uses where the elf where holds no consequences and is just a fun addition to Christmas, I just can’t over the “true meaning”

We are still learning. Parenting is still new to us and we are learning as we go! We all want what’s best for our children and once they are loved that’s all that really matters!

My little sour patch kid is a YEAR AND A HALF today!

Or as I like to say we survived 6 months of toddlerhood 😂. But seriously we had our first full blown temper tantrum this morning. I’m talking screaming, crying, trying to hit me and Josh when we tried to comfort him, hyperventilating, runny nose… 15 minutes - all because when he squeezed his apple sauce packet it spilled.

Anyways it was worth it because for the rest of the day he’s been the most cuddly boy giving hugs and kisses, and holding hands.

I’ve got a question… do your kids only want to wear costumes? We tried on our Halloween costumes this weekend and he wouldn’t let me take them off. This morning when he was picking out his outfit he decided against a T-shirt and shorts and went straight for the puppy costume 😂Who can complain when they’re SO cute.

One thing I’ve realized being a mom for almost a year and a half is that no matter what someone will always be judging me or criticizing me on the choices I make.

I recently decided to start working again and while I’m still lucky enough to stay home with Archer I’m still being judged. Some stay at home moms are saying I won’t be able to spend enough time with him and some working moms are saying I won’t be able to focus on my work enough. So what’s the solution here? How about I’ll do what’s best for ME and MY family.
