18/07/2023

Storms with high wind moving in.

01/07/2023

Storms over Tennessee are weakening as they track south into North Alabama. Expect some brief strong gusty winds.

29/06/2023

Severe T-Storm Watch until 7pm. We are watching a broken line of storms moving in from the north. Isolated damaging winds possible but the overall trend has been for weakening as of 3pm this afternoon. We are watching for possible new development. A well-defined outflow boundary is moving ahead of the storms and will likely provide a cool breeze of 15-25 mph as it cross the Alabama/Tennessee State line. If additional storms can develop along this boundary the could become severe and produce isolated damaging downburst winds and some hail.

The heat will continue to be a problem into the weekend with highs in the middle to upper 90s and a heat index 105-110 possible. Storms in the area and some of the clouds associated with them could keep us from reaching our forecast highs and also keep us from reaching our heat advisory and warning criteria. Stay hydrated and beat the heat as best you can. Additional strong storms will be possible into the weekend. Next week looks unsettled with more clouds and scattered showers and thunderstorms about each and every day. This includes the 4th of July.

Stay safe and have a great evening.
Brad Travis WAFF 48 Meteorologist
