My family and I are in Ocoee, and going to ride out the storm here. As long as power is available, I’ll continue to nowcast. It’ll be mostly radar shots.

Morning everybody! I hope any preps that haven’t been done get done very soon. The storm is coming, and the conditions are slowly deteriorating hour by hour. I’m not going to sugar coat this when I say this, but if you had freshwater flooding during Hurricane Ian, there’s a chance of that happening again. This storm will be lopsided with the heaviest rain totals north of the eye, and will bring wind gusts near what Charley had in 2004 for the Orlando metro area. So, the time to hunker down and ride this storm out should start around the noon time frame. You should be off the roads by 2pm if you had to be on the road. Milton is going to take 12 hours to go from the west coast to the east coast of Florida. This storm means business.

We can get through this like we have for the other storms. Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

This was from last Thursday on my birthday. We had a nasty thunderstorm which produce nickel to dime size hail and torrential downpours. I collected some hail, and still have it in my freezer as we speak. A fun day.

This is personal message from me. Any help would be appreciative.

“I just want to let everyone know is that our lease to the house we’ve been living in for almost 35 years has ended this month (was told this last week today, and given 5 weeks to vacate). The landlord isn’t going to renew it because of the scope of work on the main sewer line, so they have asked us to leave in short order. They have given us until the end of June to find a place, and let them know if we need an extension or not. I told him today that we’re still looking and planning, but that wasn’t good enough for him. So we’re in a bind at the moment with this and sister’s health issues with her arm and knee, mother’s neurodivergent mess, and my own health issues with sprinkles on top. 🤦‍♂️

Know any good places in Florida? May buy or rent. Iowa is still on the table. Just need to leave as soon as possible. Sooner the better. Will probably setup a GoFundMe page for the move itself.”

Moon halo is ongoing as we speak here in Orlando, FL. The light from the moon is refracting light onto tiny ice crystals found in the cirrus layer, which is high in the atmosphere, where it gives us the halo effect. Also, it happens during the day too with a sun halo.

Look at these supercells out in the Gulf. They are lined up and heading towards the west coast of Florida. Those along the coast be weather aware tonight. Should be there in a couple hours from now.
