LONG FALL OFF BALCONY - DEE WHY

Multiple NSW Ambulance, Police, and Fire Rescue resources have rushed to dee why this evening, after a man in his 50s fell 4 storeys off an apartment balcony. On arrival, paramedics found the man unconscious and struggling to breathe. After beginning treatment on the male, the specialist doctors from the team arrived on scene to assist, landing at the nearby Dee Why oval.

With the critical care paramedics on board, he was escorted to hospital under a green light corridor just after 8:30pm.

FATALITY AFTER WAKEHURST PARKWAY CRASH
A woman has died this afternoon after a head on collision on the Wakehurst Parkway, near Middle Creek. Just after 4.30pm, various emergency services responded to the scene after reports of patients potientally trapped and unconscious.

Multiple teenagers are in a serious condition after a P-plater collided with a tree in Bayview.
A large emergency response was called in just before 12:30, after reports that up to 6 occupants had been involved in a crash, 2 of which were unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle.

A total of 8 NSW Ambulance crews responded to the incident including 2 helicopters, and multiple intensive care units.
The NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit closed the road to begin investigating the incident, asking for any who has information on the incident to call crime stoppers (1800 33 000)

FACTORY DESTROYED - BROOKVALE

Just before 7pm this evening, Fire & Rescue NSW received multiple 000 calls regarding a factory alight. First arriving crews called for a 4th alarm (almost 20 trucks), as well as NSW Ambulance, Police and Ausgrid.
Fire crews are expected to continue to work on the fire throughout the night, with the cause of the fire not yet determined

PARAGLIDING ACCIDENT - LONG REEF HEADLAND

Emergency services have responded to reports of a serious fall in Collaroy this afternoon. It is understood a lady in her 50s fell 2 metres from a parachute, and as a result, suffered spinal/back injuries. A Rescue helicopter was called in, as well as NSW Ambulance Special Operations Paramedics, and Fire Rescue NSW.
After landing on the rocks, the Ambulance helicopter was loaded with the patient, where she was flown to Royal North Shore in a stable condition.

FACTORY FIRE - BROOKVALE

Just after 6pm, fire crews from Dee Why station responded to reports of a factory fire on Wattle St in Brookvale. Upon arrival, they were met with a large industrial building alight with heavy, black smoke issuing. With difficulty gaining access to the seat of the fire, it was not brought under control until just after 7.30pm.

MAKESHIFT HOMELESS SHELTER SET ON FIRE - DEE WHY
Around 4:30 this afternoon, police and fire rescue were called to reports of a fire near Dee Why lagoon. Upon arrival, NSW Police were confronted with a violent man (believed to have been the offender who started the fire). As the male became aggressive, police were forced to use pepper spray and arrest the man. Crews from Manly and Dee Why stations extinguished the fire, using multiple hose lengths down a walking a path.

Just after 3:50pm this afternoon, fire, police and ambulance responded to reports of a house fire on Bertana Crescent, Warriewood. After arriving on scene, firefighters were met with a working fire in a dual level home. Firefighters in BA began fire attack, slowly moving inside to extinguish hotspots. It is believed multiple patients were treated, for both smoke inhalation and burn injuries.

Around 8:25pm this evening, emergency services attended a 2 vehicle MVA on the intersection of Dee Why Parade and Clyde St, in Dee Why. One patient was assessed by NSW Ambulance for minor injuries, while the area was rendered safe by FRNSW.

RESTAURANT KITCHEN FIRE - DEE WHY
At 6:50pm this afternoon, emergency crews responded to reports of a building fire on The Strand, Dee Why.
Firefighters from Dee Why station (69) were first on scene, followed by Narrabeen (68). Diners and staff were able to safely evacuate the Indian restaurant before the building filled with smoke. The fire was contained to a small area of the kitchen, which was extinguished by Fire & Rescue with Co2 extinguishers and fire blankets. A total of 5 fire trucks attended the incident, including a ladder platform and a heavy rescue (for precaution)
Fire crews ventilated the building, including the adjoining apartments.
No injuries were reported

POLICE CAR DAMAGED AFTER PURSUIT WITH A TEENAGER - BROOKVALE

A teenage boy will appear in court tomorrow charged following a pursuit with police in a stolen vehicle on the Northern Beaches today.

About 10.50am (Tuesday 9 August 20220, officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended a carpark off Chard Rd, Brookvale, following reports a Toyota Hilux – reportedly stolen from a Freshwater address last week - was parked with the driver asleep at the wheel.

When officers approached the vehicle on foot, the driver drove towards a constable, who took evasive action to avoid being struck.

The Hilux struck a marked police caged vehicle and drove off exiting the carpark on Winbourne Road, where it collided with a parked vehicle, before driving away.

Police patrolling the area located the Toyota on Carew Street, Dee Why, and a pursuit was initiated before being terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

Following inquires, and with assistance from PolAir, the Toyota was located in the carpark of a business in Cross Street, Brookvale, about 11.30am, where the occupant, a 14-year-old boy, was arrested

He was taken to Manly Police Station where he has since been charged with use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, resist or hinder police officer in the ex*****on of duty, steal motor vehicle, take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner, Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, use motor vehicle with unauthorised number plate affixed, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

Additionally, he was also charged with take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner, not stop vehicle when directed to do so, never licensed person drive vehicle on road in relation to an incident at Young at the weekend.

The teen was refused bail to appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Wednesday 10 August 2022)

An officer was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor lacerations sustained during the incident.

MISSING MAN FOUND ALIVE - INGLESIDE

Statement from police:
“Following a multi-agency search on the Northern Beaches, a man missing from North Narrabeen has been located.

The 66-year-old man was last seen at Elanora Heights about 5.30pm on Wednesday (3 August 2022).

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

A two-day multi-agency search was conducted near Elenora Road, utilising assistance from Police Rescue, PolAir, NSW SES volunteers and members of the public.

During the search, the man was located at the rear of a semi-rural property on Wattle Street, Ingleside, about 4.15pm today (Friday 5 August 2022).

The man is suffering from exposure and NSW Ambulance Paramedics will attend to assess him.

Police would like to thank community, emergency services volunteers and the media for their assistance”.

The search is continuing for Wagner.
NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW SES, are currently searching properties of Powderworks Rd, and Ingleside Rd.

It is believed Surf Life Savers from North Narrabeen beach have launched a drone around the Wakehurst Parkway area, focusing on the Sydney Academy of Sport/Deep Creek Reserve.
