It’s back to the real world after filming most of July. I can honestly say that I’ve never been pushed this hard in my entire life. The script was wild enough to know this would be a huge stretch for us, but once the camera was up and the scenes started playing out... the heaviness and beauty reached a level beyond what I could have expected.

To our team, I’m forever proud of making it to the finish line with you. Thank you for your grit and passion, always pressing and pivoting with us around the things outside of our control. You are tough as nails with great hearts, and I’m grateful for you.

And to my man, my JC. I’m so proud of you. I’m proud of us. Thank you for writing killer stories and knowing we have the capacity to bring them to life. You’re the coolest! I love you!! Xx, Kara

“This was a nice coming of age story set in a rural town in America and was right up my street! 

The scenes shared between the two brothers were just so heart warming and genuine. The soundtrack was superb and the videography was just beautiful!

How I loved the beautifully weird Toy that fireworks scene just had me…and when he couldn’t find his lighter🤣”

“Two kids grow up under the less-than-ideal influences of a loving but weak mother and a feckless, often absent father. Focusing in particular on the sensitive youngest kid, Jeremy & Kara Choate's debut drama externalises inner feelings via brief but telling interactions between siblings in nature. None of the child leads preform like professional actors, which makes the performances the Directors draw from them, and from the older brother in particular, remarkable. There is something of a lack of plot and structure, which might make it less suited to movie watchers whose tastes incline more towards mainstream big screen fare. Regram from Oklahoma Gazette. “Choate House’s portfolio is a stunning collection of wedding and family photography, but Blood Relative Films’ Tenkiller is a gritty and profanity-laden crime flick.

Both entities were born from the minds of husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Choate and Kara Choate.

The couple met in art school at Oklahoma University and Choate House was a way for them to explore a shared love of photography and support their own growing family with something creative and fulfilling. But it wasn’t enough.

Kara kept prodding Jeremy to produce a script, and he wrote Tenkiller in about a month’s time, he said. Since then, the faucet hasn’t stopped running with a second feature already shot and a third slated to begin shooting next summer. A stack of unrealized scripts await them.
