Why TechiQ?
Why technology, why is it important?

Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to improve lives. Technology is advancing rapidly across the 195 different countries of the world albeit not at the same pace. Whereas much of the countries are fast progressing, several others are far ahead of others when it comes to technology.
Americans, Europeans, and Asians lead the pack as the world’s most technologically advanced countries.

When compared to other regions, Africa is way behind in terms of technological advancement. The continent is highly dependent on the aforementioned regions on technology. However, some countries in the region are making significant progress in advancing technology.

One of the factors used to describe developed countries is the advanced science and technology developments. It is one of the fundamental pillars that propel the economies of these industrialized nations.

Previously, Zambia 🇿🇲 has not been recognized on the top technologically advanced countries or been able to produce technology innovation that has competed internationally but we believe all that is about to change

What is cyber security?

Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting critical systems and sensitive information from digital attacks. Also known as information technology (IT) security, cybersecurity measures are designed to combat threats against networked systems and applications, whether those threats originate from inside or outside of an organization.

In 2020, the average cost of a data breach was USD 3.86 million globally, and USD 8.64 million in the United States.

At first glance, the ability of most African states to prevent or respond to a cyberattack by state-backed hackers would appear limited. African countries tend to have low levels of cyber maturity and possess limited offensive and defensive cyber capabilities. Virtually all rely on foreign actors to supply critical information infrastructure and manage data using cloud technologies. This limits sovereign control over the electronic information produced by African citizens and renders tech stacks in countries across the continent vulnerable to compromise. African governments and regional organizations have already been targeted by some high-profile state-sponsored attacks, including Chinese espionage at the African Union and North Korea’s 2017 Wannacry Ransomware attack.

A few weeks ago I attended an expo at Eastpark mall where I visited and spoke with a number of Zicta personnels. We had a great chat about cyber security in Zambia and measures being put by our government. I found out many of Zambia’s top big companies and banks outsource cyber security personnels from Europe and some from other African countries and recently we had the government come in by stating companies will not be allowed to outsource cyber security specialists from outside Zambia as it will increase vulnerability to more attacks!

What this means is Zambia will have to produce its own cyber security specialists that can compete internationally and Tech IQ Code-IT academy is leading the revolution!

We had a great first class last Saturday as we launched our ethical hacking program and we were able to learn how Facebook accounts and devices are hacked ! Crazy

The ethical hacking program runs for 3 months and the opportunity is open to all Zambians!

LIFE AT 20!

Before you become an OVERNIGHT SUCCESS, you need to become an EVERYDAY HUSTLER.

So many times we pray and wish we were rich and had it all, everybody wants to be Vusi Thembekwayo but nobody wants to live in their car for 6 months.
Many are the times we forget all the great men and women out there actually built something and that’s what we recognize them for today.

Growing up whenever I’d see a Range Rover or some luxurious apartment as I walked home I closed my eyes and prayed may I become rich one day. I spent every walk home screaming I receive papa 😂😭whenever nice cars passed and to my surprise I did this everyday.
As I grew older or maybe as I learnt more and grew wiser I realized God never really gave riches. He gave responsibility. Instead of praying I was rich. all I had to do was pray for something to put my hands to.

I personally refrained from praying and wishing I was rich. I then started to pray for a burden, a responsibility. An opportunity to put my hands to something.
Wealth isn’t given. Everything gained easily leaves easily and to make it worse wealth gained dishonestly never lasts.

With the soft life on the trend, young people have adopted a belief it comes easy.. COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY- I learnt this the hard way. Sometimes I feel I’m too old and I am slacking, sometimes I wonder weather I’ll beat my target by end of this year. I dream things were better,accounts were bigger and everything was just as I wished. I mean dont we all?
But then without the building, the struggles, the time, the patience, the disbelief and all that’s part of the PROCESS, what’s your success worth???

Adam didn’t get a condo/mansion with a Bugatti parked outside.
He got a garden, he had to work.he had to build

Perhaps next time don’t pray or wish you were rich.
Pray you had a burden to build. A mission to complete.
A dream to realize

Because it’s worth nothing if you never fought for it 🫡
