FOJC’s new uplifting funky single “Rocket Star” was written for this year’s Bongo Boy Records compilation Kidz and Katz by Various Artists, with an additional release this Summer 2021, mixed and mastered by supporter and Grammy-winner Luca Pretolesi known for his work with Diplo, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, and Snoop Lion. “Rocket Star” was written not only with the younger generation in mind, but also for the young bloods, the young at heart…to feel some bliss again after such a dark year. A corresponding lyric video was released on the heels of the single and submitted to the 64th Grammys Awards. And more recently in December 2021, FOJC did an exclusive YouTube release of a villainous mod jazzy version of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” featuring hand rod puppets.
In November 2020, Fans of Jimmy Century was invited to perform in the biggest livestream musical concert of all time, the iVoted Election Night Festival, as the top trending artist in the swing state of Nevada.
FOJC is inspired by genre-bending, creating characters/alter egos to match their songs’ vibes/videos. They create funny music videos, like the 70s-inspo prank music video spoofing buddy films for the rock/rap electro/punk iTunes-charting single “Best of My Generation.” The song was a big stretch from the the wickedly kitsch, vampy villainous swing of “All My Friends Are Ice Queens” and began their obsession with genre-bending. Their YouTube and branding focuses on music, comedy commentary, and pop culture / slop culture.
