The Victorian Athletic League would like to extend a sincere congratulations to pro running devotee Les williams, competing in his 50th season on the pro circuit!

Les has gone above and beyond to bring prize money, media attention and many athletes into our sport over the years and with 69 sashes to his name, he is one of our most decorated athletes that turns up every week.

Author Kerrie Cross, has written a biography of Les, revealing his intriguing life, in horticulture and professional running; a life that sometimes took him into risky territory. Capturing Les’ story from childhood, and at times a turbulent youth, to a time where Les was in the slipstream of the Melbourne underworld, but he never fell under the wheels. This is the story of why not?

Wang timetable has CHANGED due to extreme heat! ☀️☀️

Be sure to take not of all new start times to ensure you arrive on time

IMPORTANT UPDATE -
WANGARATTA GIFT, NEW EVENT START TIME OF 6PM!

Due to the predicted forecast in Wangaratta tomorrow at 4pm the VAL heat policy is being enforced, as such the event will now start at 6pm when the temperature has dropped - some events have also been moved to allow greater recovery time between heats and finals.

*Please note all LA's races have been cancelled due to the extreme heat. Unfortunately, starting later significantly condenses the program and removes the ability to fit LA's races between the VAL races.

We were privileged enough to interview Sean earlier in the season about all the fantastic things he has achieved in his life on and off the track and are truely thankful that he allowed us to share his story with the world
