They also got personal, as they talked about their grandmothers’ experience navigating housing discrimination when both Jewish people and Black people were excluded from homeownership. Little known fact, of the $120 billion of government-insured loans given from 1934-1962, less than 2% went to non-white people. This was at a time when homeownership was arguably the most accessible.
