Hyderabad traffic police conducts drive against sirens, musical horns

As many as 590 and 397 cases against the use of sirens and multi-toned/musical horns have been registered respectively, in a special drive conducted by the Hyderabad traffic police, between August 4 and August 19.

HYDERABAD TRAFFIC POLICE HAS LAUNCHED SPECIAL DRIVE AGAINST USE OF SIREN, MULTI-TONED / MUSICAL HORNS FROM 04-08-2025

Hyderabad Traffic Police is committed to ensuring road safety and smooth flow of traffic for the citizens of Hyderabad. As part of this effort, a special enforcement and awareness drive is being continuing against the use of sirens, multi-toned/musical horns.

Despite clear legal prohibitions, many motorists continue to use multi-toned and musical horns. These horns not only cause public nuisance and panic but also lead to confusion on roads and accidents.

According to Rule 119 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 and Section 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the use of sirens, multi-toned/musical horns is strictly prohibited.

During the special drive conducted from 04-08-2025 to 19-08-2025, (590) cases were registered against the use of sirens and (397) cases against the use of multi-toned/musical horns. The special drive will be continued.

The public is advised to voluntarily remove multi-toned and musical horns from their vehicles and strictly comply with traffic rules to avoid penal action.

Vigilant Citizens are also requested to report the traffic violations to Hyderabad Traffic Police through Hyderabad Traffic Police Facebook, X (Twitter) and Traffic Help Line (9010203626).

BRIEF ABOUT THE DRUG OFFENDERS:

Mohit Sanjay Mehra @ Mohit – A drug peddler from Narsingi, Hyderabad, born and brought up in Mumbai and completed his education in B.Tech Mechanical, started his own business and for expansion of his business, he migrated to Hyderabad in 2021 along with his wife. His divorce incident leads him to consume drugs with friends and became regular visitor to pubs in late nights. His regular habit of consumption gradually lured himself to became a peddler and now he is procuring the co***ne exclusively from his supplier N/o: Mumbai and procured co***ne for Rs. 10,000/- per gram and sell it to his customers / consumers for Rs. 25,000/- per gram and enjoy a lavish lifestyle.

BRIEF ABOUT THE CASE:

On credible information i.e., on 10.08.2025, the HNEW team along with Langer House Police conducted a joint operation and apprehended a Co***ne local peddler Mohit Sanjay Mehra @ Mohit and (01) Consumer Nagaram Jason Raj @ Jason in the limits of Langer House Police Station and seized Co***ne (15) grams and (02) mobile phones all worth Rs. 3,95,000/- from his possession in Crime No.171/2025, U/Sec: 8(c) r/w 22(b), 27(b) NDPS Act 1985 of Langer House PS, Hyderabad.
MODUS OPERANDI:
The Co***ne peddler Mohit Sanjay Mehra @ Mohit is resident of Hyderabad is procuring Co***ne from Mumbai by hand from his supplier. His regular habit of consumption gradually lured himself to became a peddler. Since five months he has been indulged in Co***ne peddling to sell it in Hyderabad City to needy customer at a higher price to earn easy money and enjoy a lavish lifestyle.
APPEAL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC:

In recent times a well-educated and handsome job doing persons also became a victim of drug abuse which leads them to transform as drug peddlers. The regular addiction among the youth is rising in society leading to disastrous consequences for the family as a unit and the society in general. Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) requests the public of Hyderabad to refrain from substance abuse and parents are advised to keep a watch on the activities of their children to ensure they do not fall prey to drugs. On 14.08.2025 on credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team, Malkajgiri Zone along with Cherlapally L&O Police has apprehended one person by name Shiv Kumar S/o Virendra Ram, Age: 32 Yrs, Occ: Labour R/o Pukat Nagar Colony, Opposite of Govt School, Pedda Cherlapally N/o Vill Pithanua, Post Rampur, Thana, Barun block, Pithanwan, Aurangabad of Bihar State - 824112 who was in illegal possession of fire arms and ammunition and seized (03) Country made weapons along with 10 live rounds.

Cr No. 288/2025, U/s 25 (1) (A), 25 (1)(B) (a) of Arms Act of Cherlapally Police Station.

Shiv Kumar S/o Virendra Ram, Age: 32 Yrs, Occ: Labour R/o Pukat Nagar Colony, Opposite of Govt School, Pedda Cherlapally N/o Vill Pithanua, Post Rampur, Thana, Barun block, Pithanwan, Aurangabad of Bihar State -824112.

Krishna Paswan S/o Arjun Paswan, Age:28yrs, occ: Labour, N/o Vill Pithanua, Post Rampur, Thana, Barun block, Pithanwan, Aurangabad of Bihar State - 824112 (Absconding)

Brief Facts:-

Facts of the case are that, Shiva Kumar is the native of Bihar State, he is the elder son to his parents among his siblings i.e three brothers and two sisters and he studied up to 10th class. Later his marriage was performed with one Sony Devi in the month of October-2014. Later he went to Surath of Gujarat State and worked in Cloth Company as Labour and in the year 2022 he migrated to Hyderabad and joined in Srikara Fertilizers Company at Medipally as Hamali for loading and unloading and staying at Pukat Nagar, Near Pedda Cherlpally in the limits of Cherlapally along with his Family and is having criminal back ground and involved (01) NDPS case (i.e., G***a Chocolates) and on 06-08-2025 he went to his native village of Bihar State for Raksha Bandhan Festival and hatched plan with his brother in law by name Krishna Paswan R/o Bihar to earn easy money by making and selling of weapons in Hyderabad, Telangana State.

As per his pre-plan, Shiv Kumar procured (03) County made weapons along with 10 live rounds from his brother In-law Krishna Pashwan of Bihar State and hatched a plan to sell weapons to the persons intended to involve in criminal activities.

While the things stood so, on 14-08-2025 12:15 hrs while the Shiv Kumar was moving near Cherlapally Railway Station, upon credible information SOT Malkajgiri Police along with Cherlapally Police have apprehended him and seized (03) Country made weapons along with (10) live rounds from his possession.

He was previously arrested in the following case.

Telangana: Early morning earthquake in Vikarabad, 3.8 on richter scale
