Merry Christmas from our blended family to yours 🤍 The “big” days can feel empty if you are missing some of your kiddos.. but I hope you are able to remember it doesn’t matter what day you celebrate on the calendar. It will be just as special to them no matter the time or day! But from one mama to another… I know it hurts when they’re gone 🥲(as we drive to drop both our big boys off with their other parents)
🥹🥹🥹 So appreciate for this life & our FOUR children!
I love being consumed by motherhood.
And that doesn’t mean I love every moment.
Because I don’t enjoy
the arms and legs flailing in the air, tantrums,
cleaning up messes,
laundry, laundry, and MORE LAUNDRY,
and middle-of-the-night wake-ups.
And sure, I'd like more "me time,"
to go to the gym,
go to the bathroom alone,
or work on something I’m passionate about with no interruptions.
But I love my life centered around them,
waking up to kids in my bed and listening to their laughter through heavy eyelids,
always having a child on me and a day planned around their activities,
and getting to be the biggest influence in their lives.
Because being consumed by motherhood,
also means being consumed by our children’s giggles and smiles,
getting to be their safe harbor no matter the storms they’re facing,
getting to know everything about their different personalities,
and giving and receiving so much love.
And sooner than I'll ever be ready for, I’ll be wondering what to do with myself.
Because time is fleeting, and this is the most time I'll ever have with them—
where they’ll choose to be with me.
So, I’ll choose them back
by soaking up every exhausting minute
of this consuming time in motherhood,
I can.

To every kind of mama this Spring Break…. If you’re like our blended family this year we have an empty house besides our little man. An ‘empty’ house for 7 days isn’t my favorite thing in the world… it’s way too quiet & a lot less laughs without our 2 big squirrels! School breaks can be tough, & my heart goes out to all the mamas who just miss their babies 🤍🤍 But… we are so blessed both our kiddos each have 2 loving & healthy homes!

And NO, I’m not talking about issues with our children 🙃 Blended families deal with many stressors that are often out of our control. In our household we have two sets of people we coparent with. My ex-husband, and my husbands ex-wife. That is a lot of outside people who are constantly involved in our lives.Sometimes…it all piles up too high and the anxiety of it all disrupts my daily thoughts when I know it shouldn’t. This is the devils work, y’all, and it’s hard to break out of it when there is conflict coming from both sides. Court dates. Scheduling. Activities. Simple communication!!
