Find Your Peer Recovery Coach | Ingham County Health Department
Real people in our communities are impacted by substance use. We are so proud to create this video ad as a way to connect people to the care and support they need, without judgment.
🎥 Working alongside the Ingham County Health Department and Piper & Gold Public Relations, Wondergold Pictures produced this video campaign to introduce individuals and families to Peer Recovery Coaches (PRCs.)
If you haven’t heard this term, Peer Recovery Coaches are people in long-term recovery who have completed extensive training in the field of addiction and recovery, including training and certifications. PRCs can answer questions and help you find what you need, whether you are looking for Narcan, access to clean syringes, community support, or pathways to recovery.
Harm Reduction strategies like PRCs offer support and practical solutions that create safer communities. It prevents overdose death, stops the spread of disease, and improves public health. Talking about substance use can destigmatize it. Destigmatizing substance use saves lives.
These brave and impactful Peer Recovery Coaches share their unique stories and more information on the work that they do. Our hope is that videos like this, crafted with care, provide direct, practical support that can improve health and safety.
Thank you to The Fledge and Punks With Lunch Lansing, our PRCs and talented on-camera models, everyone at ICHD and the Harm Reduction Subcommittee for their generous work towards better futures. And of course, Piper & Gold for the extensive research and strategy behind this campaign. Thank you for entrusting Wondergold Pictures with the video creation to further promote these resources and hopefully, save lives.
Stay tuned for the release of mini-documentaries from these Peer Recovery Coaches and the work they are doing to destigmatize substance use and strengthen their communities.

Before you share that video, here are our tips for a thorough review process.
Whether you’re reviewing as a client or an editor, this is an essential part of creating. Here is what we’re looking out for when we talk about quality control.
First, for our clients, when you get the link to review your video we want you to keep your eye out for a few things:
• Overall impression. We start with this before we get into the nitty-gritty. This allows us to get insight into big-picture thinking and see if we’re in a good position as we move through revisions.
And the particulars..
• Are we covering all the important details, is the story engaging, and aligned?
• Are there people, props, locations, and attire, that we might need to remove footage? Sometimes you might see a shot that has a yellow or red flag that we might not know to note. We can swap out a shot or mask and crop strategically.
• Branding! Check our graphics, titles, and spelling.
Quality control for editors and or anyone creating their own videos:
• Always watch before you share. Every time. Multiple times. Even if the video looked good on your timeline, the amount of export errors we’ve encountered is countless.
• Look for artifacts or glitches on-screen, black frames (check that first and last frame!) inconsistency or dropouts in the sound levels and music, color grade consistency, render errors, audio/video sync, and don’t forget to spell check your graphics as well as their placement within safe margins.
Before we send the video to a client for those initial notes, these are the things that we look for in our videos after exporting and uploading for review. That way, their eyes and ears can be on the content, not the technical.
We love @frame_io for this! Our clients can add notes right into the timecode, we can reply, mark them off as we go, upload new versions, and check between them using the same link. It’s leveled up our review process.

Investing in styled, professional photography can make it feel like you are finally the company you always wanted to be. Visuals are how our customers experience what we offer, and we want your visuals to look and feel like you.
Part of our discovery process is to identify the ways we can do that. We think about color, light, lenses, props, people, and your ethos as a company. With our styling, we turn your products and experiences into something you can share online, and in-store, and promote your business wherever your customers want to see you.
Interested? We’re booking brand photography packages just like this one. Inquire on our website or DM us for more info.

How do we connect to your audience? Sometimes it’s pretty visuals, sometimes it’s good stories. With us as your video agency, it’s both.
ArtsMSU booked a brand visuals package with us this last summer. Together, we found three different stories that encapsulate the Arts on campus. This imagery you see here is an Anishinaabe MSU student and poet sharing her poem written in the Beal Garden on campus.
The video highlights student stories all center on this green space on their campus. A place where creation and reflection happen. To promote the arts, we had to go where the artists go. So we filmed Mikayla Thompson read her poem right where she wrote it.
Our discovery process is a key part of the video creation for us because it gives everyone on our team and yours a space to bring these concepts and stories to the surface. To choose how and where we film. To build a video that your audience can experience fully.

This little reel has some of our favorite shots from 2023 added in! And a few that we may never get sick of. 🍣🍎🎥
We threw a crew party to celebrate the launch of our video agency and left an old camcorder out. This is what they filmed…
Commercial video crew? In 60p?! With a flip-out screen and a few drinks in them. This is our event highlight video no one asked for. Professional photos to come, of course. But first… whatever this is. 📹
Let’s talk location scouting 🎬
Before we have a production day, our team loves to plan. One thing that always makes filming smoother is scouting beforehand. We get our producer and/or key people to see the spots where we are going to film. What are we doing when we’re on-site for a location scout?
• We are checking out the lighting - what’s in our control, what do we need to bring, and how are we going to logistically get it there?
• We look at what angles work best. This helps us plan our shots, lenses, etc.
• Are there any unusual sounds? We look for construction, air conditioners, and anything that might be a problem for our audio engineer.
• We are finding the spaces we will need to do our job well and out of the way of others. We gotta know where to park, stage our gear, eat lunch, and go 10-1 (that’s code for bathroom.😘)
When we don’t have the budget, time, or access to scout, we always request photos and parking information so we can still plan with our team. The more information, the smoother the production day. 🤸🏻♀️
