So, I have a time saver for you to check out.

One way to have a piece of that social media marketing done for you is through ready-made graphics or templates.

Every social media post is an opportunity for your business to catch your ideal customer’s attention.

But there are several things you’ll want to have in place to truly maximize each post!

Over on the blog, I outlined 5 questions to ask yourself before posting on social media, so let's feature one today:

➡️ Am I causing my audience to feel an emotion?

No matter what type of writing you are doing, the most effective way to grab your reader’s attention is by causing them to feel an emotion.

When you write the copy (or the words) for your social media post, really spend some time getting into your audience’s head. Try to write in a way that speaks to their emotions, not just their head.

One way to accomplish this is by using your own real-life example. You demonstrate to your readers that you were once where they are. Then you had a realization or a moment where you turned it around. Then you found success.

Now, before you think that each social media post needs to be a long emotional saga, let’s clarify….

You can apply this same thinking to every post, no matter your niche.

When you write a post that’s selling your gadget…. walk through this same idea! What problem did you need a solution for, and then this gadget solved it?

When you write a post where you are selling your hair products….. what solution did you desperately need for your hair before? What emotions and frustrations did that cause? How did the development of these products change all of that? What hope can you give?

When you approach writing in this way, it’s MUCH more powerful than simply stating the facts about your products.

When you involve your audience’s emotions, they become invested in you, your products, and the solutions you can offer.

Love this reminder today. ❤️

All of our "seasons" look different.

Sometimes a "daily crazy part" of your season can make you feel like that's who you are. Like life will never be normal. Maybe like you are a failure at something.

Me? I have been in a season of slightly crazy parenting for.... a long time. 😏.

But, all of it is a season.

Covid is a season. Drama can be for a season. Lack of money can be for a season.

It doesn't define us. We get to choose what defines us. 😊

It's probably not a surprise that one of the MOST searched for things online right now is: "How to Make Money Online."

Of course everyone is looking for that solution! And many people are turning to blogging as a source of that steady online income.

Skeptical?

Over on the blog I outlined 6 ways that bloggers can make money (sometimes MASSIVE amounts of it!) - and all of these tactics are WITHOUT a product to sell!

Here's a sneak peek of one of them:

👉 Pursue sponsored posts.

As a blogger, you can reach out to companies and pitch the idea of their sponsoring a blog post.

When they agree, you then write a post in line with their product. Often the sponsored post may include a review of their product in some way.

Note that you will need to disclose to your readers that they are sponsoring this post, but that the opinions are your own.

Before writing, you will decide on a pay rate from the company, and discuss what that includes. For example, it’s possible that the company would be interested in adding on social media posts or an email to your list.

Discuss the options and decide on a rate that you are both happy with. Also discuss the expectations. When will the work be done? When and how will you be paid?

Then, write the post and collect your check. ❤️

Social media post prompts can be an extremely beneficial piece of your marketing plan! 😀

➡️ What are Social Media Post Prompts?

A prompt is something that tells you what to write in your social media post. The prompt can be a sentence, a blurb, a short little paragraph – really anything that gets you thinking, and inspires your creativity! 🔆

You then write the actual social media post in your own language, using words that you and your brand would use. ❤️

➡️ How are Social Media Post prompts helpful?

I’m sure you know all to well that when you are running a business, there are AT LEAST a million things that need your attention. 😔

And the truth is, we only have a finite amount of attention to give!

When you have post prompts in front of you, it takes a WHOLE lot of the time out of managing your social media. 👍

Check out more ways you can use social media post prompts in your marketing!

If you have a small business, a question that often comes up is, “Should I share personal posts on my business’s social media pages?”

This is a great question – especially if it’s only you, or a small team behind your business.

Should you only be sharing business-related things, or also make your page personally about YOU from time to time?

To answer this, let’s think back to this question: Why are people on social media?
They are there to connect and build relationships.

Think about all of your family and friends that you follow. You are are there to see their photos, to banter back and forth with them, and even to post a funny meme and connect over a laugh.

All of these things are connection. They are relationship-building.

So the obvious follow-up question is: If connection is the goal, then why do people follow brands and companies?

The end goal is the same!

People want to connect with the brand. They want to see what the personality of the company is, and what they are “like.”

Because, in this day and age – people only buy from those they KNOW, LIKE & TRUST.

How do companies let their followers in to really know them? On social media!

TIP: Write with words your readers would use. ❤️

This is just as simple as it sounds!

Think about your readers. Who are the people in your audience? Who do you envision is coming to your blog and giving you all of those page views?

If you’ve walked through the process to define your ideal customer, consider who that person is.

But I was able to be scrappy and learn what I needed to in the world of marketing to be successful, and have even managed lots of people along the way!

One of the pillars of my business is just this… anyone can do marketing on social media. Seriously, anyone. There is SO much education available, that you too can successfully market your business on social media.

So, in my writing – I do not use any marketing jargon or stuffy terms. I have a social media training blog for “the rest of us.” And I want my writing tone to always reflect that.

Chances are that you have heard of the popular idea of BATCHING. This strategy can help you accomplish WAY more in much less time.

You can batch laundry, meal planning, cleaning – and yes, even your Social Media Posts!

For example…
- How many tabs to you have open in your browser right now?
- Is your phone nearby?
- If you’re in the office – chances are that your day is split up into meetings with coworkers, clients, emails, phone calls and tasks.
- If you’re working from home – chances are that you have dinner cooking, you’re waiting for a call from a kid’s teacher, you have a load of laundry in…and you’re helping with homework while you read this.

Without a doubt, there are no lack of things demanding our attention everyday!

>> Have you ever noticed that if you just take your computer to the coffee shop to get something done, magically you’re through in half the time??

Why is that? Certainly the triple espresso played into it! But more importantly, it was the power of FOCUS.

It’s not rocket science to know that we all get more done when we can just focus on the task at hand.

Want to try out batching your social media posts? Head over to the blog, and see how to do it: https://bit.ly/3PzZsRv

Something I was reminded about and encouraged by lately....

The work you are are doing right now, does not create results right now.

You will see the results from all of this work in a few months. Seriously.

All of that marketing you are doing, bringing people into your audience.... it will pay off down the road. Some estimate that it takes about 4 months for social media marketing to start to truly pay off.

It's one of the hardest things to keep pressing on, when you aren't seeing any real evidence that it's working, or even worth it.

But - it WILL BE.

Be patient and stick with it. You will be SO glad that you did!

Want to know the KEY to getting customers to buy your products?

🔆 It's your MESSAGING. 🔆

👉 That's a marketing word that basically means this: the way you talk about your product.

Hard truth here: Your customers don't care about you or your journey to making this product. They don't care about how many features it has. 😏

They care about themselves, and whether or not THIS PRODUCT will solve their problem.

Put yourself in your customers’ shoes and really think about it from their perspective….

➡️ “She” buys your custom handmade skirt because….
it makes her feel beautiful on a long overdue date night after days of tirelessly chasing kids. It’s something that’s just “for her,” and makes her feel great about herself.

➡️ “She” buys your imported craft coffee because…
it makes her feel like she’s empowered to tackle her day of building her own business. She feels empowered to take on the world while supporting a small business instead of a chain store.

➡️ “He” hires your lawn service because…
he’s now freed to spend his weekends playing with his kids and savoring the years that are slipping away far too quickly.

People don’t buy your product.
They buy things that solve the problems they are wrestling with. ❤️

One term that I use (that I made up!) is the idea of posting about your PILLAR IDEAS.

In your business, there are several key truths that you would like your customers to know - that are different than others in your field!

They are the pillars that hold up your business. They are a big piece of why you do what you do. They make you unique.

Sure, there are other businesses that are doing similar things to you. There are other clothing boutiques, other ice cream shops, other business coaches, etc.

But what are the things that are SUPER important to you and your business, that are different than others?

THESE are the things you need to zero in on and focus on in your marketing!

For example….Let’s say you have your own small clothing brand.

SURE, there are plenty of other small clothing brands.

BUT, these pillar ideas set you apart.

➡️ All of your materials are sourced second-hand (reducing waste).
➡️ You give job opportunities to homeless and impoverished people (improving their lives).
➡️ You are passionate about incorporating the latest trends and styles.

By making note of these 3 pillar ideas, people get a VERY different picture of the clothing brand! If this brand focuses on telling their audience about these 3 pillars, think of how focused they will be!

This would lead to firmly attracting their ideal customer – because people who are passionate about the same things they are will be attracted to their business.

Also, the people who really resonate with those pillar ideas will be enthusiastically purchasing from that clothing brand.

So… what are your pillar ideas?

Every business has them. Simply think through what makes YOU different from others.
