Working on an in-game shop for Planet Breakout. Currently there are a total of 10 different skins to choose from.

Still got some work to do here on the Upgrades section but the Skins section of the shop is almost completed. ✅

Crystals collected through playing the game can be used to purchase new skins for your Earth character as well as special abilities (Upgrades) to help you complete the levels.

One week later, 14 more tasks left on the to-do-list and with only 3 more days left of Feburary, the pressure is on for me to finish Level 1!

Its been an amazing week of development for me! So much has been achieved in the past week. New features have been added (when I said I wouldn't be adding more lol)! New objectives/tasks implemented, engaging character dialogues, hints/clues, plenty of bug fixes and a bunch of new collectables.

The game plays really well, it has a variety of different ways to play it with a nice mix of compulsory/non-compulsory tasks to complete. This enables the player to choose how they play the game and provides options. I wanted to avoid a linear play style and I believe I have achieved that. The level plays out in 2 stages and the game loop/cycle incorporates problem solving, exploring and a race against the clock.

Will I be able to finish Level 1 by Feburary 28th? Its going to be tough but I will be throwing myself fully into this to try and stick to my personal deadline. I hope to be able to share some gameplay clips with you on Tuesday 🙂

Level 1 is progressing really well. Fully optimised for mobile with a compelling escape room style of story.

I set myself a personal goal of finishing Level 1 by the end of February and for the first time, it's looking very achievable. Even though I am still adding tasks to my to-do-list, these are primarily quality of life tasks rather than new features.

Between now and the end of February I have a large list of tasks to truly make this level an enjoyable, fun and highly replayable level. I am focusing entirely on this Level and have not even began thinking about Level 2 yet.

Just wanted to share an update about the future of this page...

This year I'll be turning my attention to making games rather than making gaming content such as streaming. I started this page and channel with the intention of streaming and gaming, but with family, life and work commitments it proved too difficult to be consistent with delivering high quality content.

Whilst I still plan to deliver content here and there, I now want to focus on a passion I have for creating games. I have often started projects in the past then lose interest/motivation but not this year. All that is going to change.

Planet Breakout is a mobile game I'm working on, which will be an escape room style of game. I started this game back in 2013 as a demo whilst in university and never realised the full potential it had. It was an experiment more than a game that got sidelined due to focusing on my final year project.

Since Christmas I decided I wanted to bring it up-to-date in a newer version of Unity and the ideas just kept on coming! I am now at a stage where I have almost completed my first level for the game and have a genuine excitement for transforming it into a playable game.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you all and it would mean the world to me if you'll stick with me. I can't wait to share more of my progress and would like to extend a massive thanks to everyone that still follows me after all this time. 🙂
