Had in here the other day to record the final episode of Season 1 for “Live From Smoking Nun” and they finished the season strong with a 1 take performance!

So stoked for all the amazing bands we have had in here and incredibly excited to share them with you all.

Opened up a ton of space in the control room for recording activities! Swipe for “before” pics. 🎚️

Got rid of the last bit of the very first studio desk I ever bought. Over the years I slowly stripped it down to make it smaller. Nearly a decade later now, I’m finally saying goodbye to it. (for now, until I build out a second room… 🫣)

I picked up a small rolling desk that I can get out of the way when doing things like tracking or critical listening. It also stands up, which is super cool! No more sitting for 8+ hours straight!

This will also let me utilize the control room space better, as I’ll have a lot more room to set up microphones.

Looking forward to recording some heavy songs in this space.🤘

Watch your f*king vocal edits! Make sure the phrasing is hitting with the timing of the song right and especially make sure not to cut off any extra stuff at the end like sneaky “S” or “P” sounds! Breathes are good to keep too but only if you control them right (i.e automate/clip gain them). And remember - If it ain’t tight, it ain’t right. 🤘

The BiG “Stereo Image Bigger Maker” arrived today. Excellent craftsmanship from the fine folks at

This thing is worth it for the bass switch alone - which is essentially the same circuit as the SPL IRON mastering compressors “air bass” switch, as far as I understand…but the control over the stereo field is unlike anything I’ve ever used. I’ve never seen a plugin or piece of hardware out there that does what this thing does. Truly remarkable.

I’ll be getting much use out of this on a daily basis, I do believe. 💙

Only 2 slots left in my 500 series rack…what should fill it?? I think I already know what will…🙃

Added an extra layer of analog summing to the rig! This 4x2 will be used to send subby stuff around the bus compressor to avoid pumping the mix when things like sub drops hit. Thanks for the fine craftsmanship all the way from Hungary, !
