Ella or Elle, was born on May 18, 2021 and is a beautiful, 80 pound, AKC registered, purebred Old English Sheepdog (OES). She is a sweet and loving dog and gives the best hugs! Well trained and smart, but sometimes a bit stubborn. Ella is good with people once she knows you, but will alert with a throaty, big dog bark when the doorbell rings or introduced to new people. Ella is the prefect blend o
f affectionate lover and guard dog and takes her job as "Minister of Security" at our house very seriously. Sheepdogs can be slow to learn and stubborn, but they can also be quite intelligent. Ella learned to "shake" in one day and her list of commands include sit, speak, lay down and roll over...all learned at a young age with little effort on our part. She loves going on walks and eagerly gets into her harness. She is good on the leash, stays by our sides during walks and doesn't pull. Ella does not jump up on people, but will snuggle up on an available lap and accepts tummy rubs from anyone. Ella is super sweet, loving, affectionate and a great friend. Please enjoy her pictures and should you find yourself in the market for an OES please contact us to reserve a puppy from her next litter. We have the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test performed on all pups at 49 days old by trained experts that tests 10 individual traits, including social attraction, following, restraint, social dominance, elevation dominance, retrieving, touch sensitivity, sound sensitivity, sight sensitivity and stability and are given a score between 1 through 6. Knowing a puppy's traits help you select the right dog for you and your environment. Ask us about Volhard testing to determine the best dog for your unique lifestyle. Sometimes described as playful, bubbly, intelligent, loving, sociable, gentle and adaptable...sheepdogs are great companions. Affectionate within the family, good with children, sometimes a sheepdog will try to dominate other dogs due to its natural herding instincts. Ella gets along well with her 14 pound Multipoo sister, the key to this is early introduction of others dogs in the sheepdog puppy's life. Playful by nature, sheepdogs are also bred as watchdogs and protectors of the flock. They tend to protect their families, but are good with strangers once properly introduced. Sheepdogs are generally eager to please, train well and have a moderate energy level. Like all dogs, Ella tends to mirror the household's energy level and while Ella likes to play, she is a very mellow dog (reflecting our household's energy) and does not require a lot of physical stimulation.
